Big time K to finish the ending and I like seeing some emotion from him.

Atta boy Schmidt. Tuned in just in time for that K

Why doesn’t Schmidt simply strike out everyone

Gotta give Vandy batters credit

How did Schmidt got to a 7 pitch 1st to having 60+ through 3. And only allowing 1 run.
They stopped swinging at first pitch. Exactly why taking pitches is advantageous. Schmidt won’t last past the 5-6th inning with that approach.

That was huge getting out of that inning without allowing any runs.

I love eating my words. That awesome. William needs a quick inning or 2

63 pitches is a ton through 3. He may get 1 more inning. He won’t get through 5 at this pace.
Who is coming in next?

What tools does he bring outside a good arm? Because fundamentally, I don't see it and last year it was the same. 2 years of the same thing. Think it's time to start thinking about him being looked somewhere else if he doesn't get his arse in gear by the end.
I think he has good athleticism and can move well behind the plate when he wants to. A ton of the passed balls and issues have been mental problems and laziness. In the fall he did an awesome job blocking pitches consistently according to a lot of people who attended them. Leads me to believe he has the ability.

They're wearing Schmidt out. 65 pitches in 3 innings, but only one run to show for it so far

How long before we start talking about flipping Schmidt and Evans in the rotation???

I'm not comfy up 6-1 we need some more runs
Posted on 3/15/26 at 4:17 pm to LSUtiger4ilfe
If this is true then I don't know how he's so bad behind the plate right now. He better get his head in focus or they might just go to the freshman who has some big league power in his bat.

That's been talked about a few times on here.

This won't be popular - hell I don't even like typing it - but Vandy may be better than they're given credit for right now. I know they're not ranked, but as we all know, rankings don't mean a damn thing this early in the season.
