I never heard that, and I went against my initial intuition. I assumed a spark like Williams would come off the bench, but he raved about Williams so I went with that. I'm going to update OP

Is Brandon Rachal still with the team?
No. Will had to make room for all the new players.

Bigby gives Naz the advantage with Both on the court at the same time, IMO, there will be times when Naz is at the 5. But, this team will strive with Naz at the 4 because he will be a matchup nightmare for opposing teams because of his very very high Basketball IQ and his flat out nasty abilitiy to put the ball on the floor, or knock down the 3 or play with his back to the basket.
It does make sense to play Naz and BW together. BW is the least skilled offensively of our forwards but with the way Naz can distribute the ball it would be a great to compliment him. And Will has stressed rim protection and BW is that guy.
I will admit that I am obsessed with Williams so I selfishly want him to start.

Cannot wait to see these boys take the court tomorrow. Gonna be a great year.

Cody Worsham tweeted:
“Daryl Edwards shot the ball so well this summer – routinely making 110 to 115 out of 125 from 3 – that Will Wade made him start shooting in the dark.”
Holy smokes, Daryl has been shooting well this offseason.

He said he will play some matchups occasionally going 1 small big with 1 big big, but he was going with that at starting group first off. But he said he has been platoning them together so far in scrimmages and such. I think Williams still averages 25 minutes a game though, and potentially more than bigby-Williams. KBW is that defensive tone setter though I think he loves with the length.

Yea, I told a buddy of mine I expected Williams to come off the bench because he can be a spark if your team comes out a little flat.
Honestly, I just cannot wait for the excitement of this team

According to Wade, the plan is to still redshirt him and Cortese.
Not sure why everyone is freaking out over depth with this team. We are still 9 deep that will play, and that doesn’t count Kingsby once he gets fully healthy.
Posted on 11/5/18 at 9:20 pm to TigerLaw40
Courtese is really skinny. During the Jones and Brady years he would have been forced to play, but huge luxury he can’t redshirt. Hyatt is really young and he WANTED to redshirt. I heard from an old professor that the kid is extremely mature for his age. Also, interesting to see what happens with Kingsby. Kingsby said on IG 2 days ago he’s still not medically cleared, so he will he redshirted. Now, if he gets cleared, and we get some injuries does that change?
Wade also said Graves and Reese are quality walk ons who in a pinch can play

[b]Preview of SLU for those Interested for some info going into tomorrow
Little bit about SLU: Very very well coached. They will only run man to man. They will also mix in some press but only after made free throws and it will be usually token press. There focus this year will be centered around how far senior Marlain Veal takes them, he will remind you a lot of Tremont Waters he is a tremednous talent. Lightning quick, good shooter, and crafty finisher for size. They are coming off there best year under Jay Ladner and won the Southland regular season last year but lost in the conference tourney to advance to the NIT. It was Ladner's best team at SLU and the schools best in probably 10 years. They are not as talented as last year but they return 3 very very good players for that level to make up for the 5 or 6 guys they did lose.
Lineup:
PG Marlain Veal 5'9 145 (SR)
G Von Julien 6'1 160 (JR)
Wing Kajon Brown 6'5 200 (JR)
C Keith Charleston 6'8 207 (SR)
C Moses Greenwood 6'7 221 (SR)
Bench:
F Brandon Gonzalez 6'6 200 (SO)
G Quinton Thomas 6'2 175 (SR)
F Tyron Brewer 6'7 210 (FR)
Wing D'Angelo West 6'4 195 (SR)
West could easily start in place of Julien for size purposes. But SLU is not very deep at all they will look to play only 6 maybe 7 guys in the first half if they can help it. The played D-2 Delta State and barely won. Delta State is a good D-2 team and SLU was without their best player in Veal (minor injury) but they won because there two posts players were able to dominate that level. They are both good sized not great, both plus rebounders but neither is a stretch big and neither will wow you with athleticism. If LSU can get one in foul trouble they could cruise early.
Prediction:
SLU is a good team that could provide some feeling out for LSU it will not be an all out rout. SLU already played a game against D2 Delta State and barely won, however they were without their best player in Veal (Minor injury). SLU is not deep at all so look to see LSU press and press a lot more in general this year. I will be interested to see this premier PG matchup as both are so similar. LSU will be expected to have a little rust and they are bringing so many new faces in key roles that it could take 10-12 minutes to get going. SLU will look to slow it down and chew clock offensively, LSU will look to exploit that and run run run.
LSU wins by 17
84-67
Halftime score
38-29
Waters and Mays each with 15 pts or more apiece. Williams gets a double double. While Bigby-Williams has a nice start with like an 8 pt, 8 reb, 4 blk kind of game.
