coaches shouldn't need 4 years to win. not in basketball
and i think he was being facetious about paying Brady double.
losing is one thing, but not even being competitive against average teams is another.
"doing it the right way" is becoming a played out excuse.

Let me just say that as bare as the roster was when TJ took over, he still failed to recruit quality players.
That's a bad thing.
Also, I mentioned this in another thread on the SEC rant
Doesn't it bother you that all of his assistant are former players? You don't want everyone on staff from the same coaching tree. There's no diversity. Everyone has the same background in game planning and organizing practice.
It's like going to graduate school and undergrad at the same place.
Not sure how much of an affect it really has, but it's something I would be uncomfortable with if I was an LSU fan.

But, they probably don't know what we did the first 4 or 5 seasons under both Brady and Daddy Dale
that's what i'm sayin. it's ridiculous to want trent fired right now.
people need to look at brady's record his first few years and then talk on here.

FWIW, it did take John Calipari 5 years at Memphis to reach the NCAA tournament.

want to see courtney get more time at this point.

He made it in his 4th year, because after that year he went back to the NIT
I should have said 5 to get the program rollings

coaches have different ways of doing it....and we don't fully know the APR restrictions on LSU when TJ got here

no doubt, it is bothersome, and people should be worried, but wanting him fired at this time is a little harsh

horrible first few years though

take away the '00 and '06 seasons, and you have a very mediocre record.
i could have coached that '06 team to the final four FWIW.

Take away Trent's 1st year and you have an atrocious record. Seriously you can't just exclude years because it helps your argument.

last year's team was Taz and a bunch of walk-ons.
were you expecting that team to win many games?

Trent Johnson is the Tyrone Willingham of College Basketball. Gee Whiz... and they both coached at Stanford before they took over a legitimate D1 program and sunk it like a battleship in WWII.
Does this nean the 49's goofed up?

just curious

All I know is for the past two years LSU basketball has been painful to watch. That said, I guess we need to blame the players; not the coach; for under performing??
