Anybody else watching this game on ESPN3D tomorrow night?

It's the only LSU game live on ESPN3D this year and the first time the Tigers have played on ESPN3D.

I was hoping I could see it for a game in Tiger Stadium so I don't have State's shitty arse stadium surrounding me in my living room.

Not sure how long I'll be watching it in 3D, though... 3 1/2 hours wearing those glasses might piss me off too much.

But I'm excited to see what T-Rex and the defense look like jumping through the screen and ripping Relf's shoulder out of socket. Should be interesting.

3D tv and broadcasting is greatly overrated

it's a special channel for 3D... I have two 3D channels (Xfinity3D and ESPN3D), and I watch them probably 0.5% of the time... that 0.5% of the time I watch it this year will be when I watch the LSU-Miss State game and maybe the bowl games.

The rest of the time, ESPN3D shows replays of other events it has aired (Winter X-games, Little League World Series, old soccer games, etc...). It is, though, showing each Thursday night football game and some Saturday night games live.

I don't think 3DTV is going to take off... it's pretty cool, but I'm not sure if enough people will think it's worth the money for the glasses and stuff. Maybe technology will make it better in the future.

Now, HBO3D On Demand is pretty cool... but the regular programming 3D channels are meh.

How did you get the channel? Like i said, when i spoke with suddenlink they were clueless! Finally someone said there is no special channel, just need the glasses on when espn in broadcasting in 3d. He acted like its the same channel is espnHD.

I have Comcast (Xfinity) and the two 3D channels came with the HD Preferred package. I can't speak for other providers, it may be an extra package or cost. But they certainly are different channels from the regular programming. When I go to ESPN3D, it shows it as split screen until I turn the 3D function on (I have a button on my remote to turn on 3D). Then I hit the power button on my glasses and put them on.

So I'm not sure about Sudden Link. I'm sure someone who works there should know what to do, unless they simply do not provide 3D channels at all.

I wasn't aware that Cox offered ESPN3D.

I'm not sure if they do. I have Comcast up here in the DC area. I used to hate Comcast (or Xfinity or whatever they want to call themselves), but my new place didn't offer Verizon FiosTV, and Comcast gave me the "Win Back Program", so I've this on the cheap now.

Anyway, I'm certain that if it's a close game and State makes a good play, I'm going to throw my glasses against the wall and break them. So I may have to just watch it in regular HD in the second half.

I dunno. My 47", with passive only cost $900. I bought it for everything but the 3D, so it was like a free bonus. The price is coming down, but I only watch things in 3D for the kids.

nice... I was just going in to get a Samsung 46" and the Best Buy guys gave me the 3D starter kit (glasses, all the Shrek movies in 3D) with the TV for the same price, along with the 3D Blue Ray DVD player.

It will all be worth it tomorrow night if the LSU game is awesome in 3D.

Agreed. Unfortunately for me, Dish doesn't carry it. The TV does have the ability to convert 2D to 3D and it does a decent job of using the pixel focus to give it depth, but it only looks close to true 3D for CGI movies/shows. The other thing is it provides negative depth as opposed to real 3D. It's like looking at things through a window instead of having things actually come at you.

Still, I can't complain.

Some shows I've seen look like this on mine as well. I saw a documentary on the redwood forest, and it was like this.

But the sports on ESPN3D make you feel like you are at the game. Especially when they give the sideline shots, I feel like I'm standing on the sideline. I can almost smell the grass... almost.

Cox Communications-in Baton Rouge-does not offer ESPN3D at this time. They advised that there is no way to get the game in 3D thru Cox.

The CSR I spoke with said that they do not currently have enough interest in the channel to enter into a contract with ESPN3D.

This information is only accurate for The Baton Rouge Area. I did not ask about any others.

Guess HD/2D will have to do for this one.

Hope this helps.

I agree. This is what I was most impressed with when watching a game in 3D. The field-level camera angles are really great and make you feel like you are right there on the sidelines.
