The SEC brand of football is it's own. Can't expect a New Yorker to appreciate with such offensive powerhouses like Syracuse and Rutgers in his back yard.

Right. I guess that's why the same "New Yorker" said this today also:

Right now, it’s hard to imagine a better defense, and team, than L.S.U.

Perhaps. The coach was certainly a bumbler.
Again, overstated. The Auburn game being Exhibit #1.
Referencing AU'07 - The bumbling Les label was assigned via bumbling announcers quoted by bumbling analysts in a way not indicative of reality.

Well, then I guess great defense and poor to mediocre offense (according to him) means if we win a NC this year we will have once again "bumbled" there. That article did very little, and showed zero insight. I actually went and checked his bio because I couldn't believe a sports reporter actually wrote the thing.

I don't see where you get that. If LSU wins every game by 2 TDs or more, you'd have to be crazy to say that. But if they take 7 nail-biters and a lot of luck to get in on 2 losses, then yes, stumbled and bumbled will probably be appropriate.

I think you're seeing what you want to see because you're so blinded by partisanship.

I don't think of the AU game as representative of the poor decision making from that year.

I read it this morning on the commuter train into New York City and called to cancel my subscription to the Times.
Ironically, you sent that letter only to have your facts completely wrong.
Ironically, your post is completely wrong. He didn't send a letter to cancel his subscription. He called to cancel his subscription.

But they didn't answer, and Google Voice transcribed it into a letter which was sent to them via email.

Yup, except I didn't call a newspaper calling them liars and cancelling my subscription over the use of the word bumbling in an article about my alma mater.

He writes like he wants to win the Pulitzer.....

"Louisiana State bumbled its way to the national title in 2007"

"Thursday night played out in a familiar mosaic of sputtering offense, wasted timeouts and critical penalties"

"Lee, a senior, followed up that touchdown pass with a cringe-worthy interception that recalled his brutal freshman year, in which he threw 16 interceptions and 8 touchdown passes"

He's just mad his team had more than 2 losses.

His team typically has 2+ losses in a single month. This article really does miss the mark on several fronts. But honestly, I've always looked at most beat writers from the NE as being fairly dreadful in their coverage of CFB.

No, but you called out a poster calling him a liar over a fairly moot point in a thread about your alma mater.

Spare us your righteous indignation.
