They refused to take the field until LSU ran out of the tunnel. The teams came out at the same time. They wanted to neutralize the crowd. It was an awesome game but not quite as epic as '79 USC or '97 Florida.

I've been going to games since my first as a young boy in 1969. I'm sure Ole Miss '59 had probably the loudest single play, but here's how I rank them from 1969 on:

1. Alabama 2012
2. USC 1979
3. Florida 2007
4. Florida 1997
5. Tennessee 2000
6. Florida State 1982
7. Georgia 2003 - easily loudest day game
8. Auburn 2001

9. Notre Dame 1986
10. Auburn 1995
11. Alabama 2000
12. Texas A&M 1986
13. Alabama 2008
14. Auburn 2007
15. Florida 2009
16. Arkansas 2011
17. Auburn 2003
18. Alabama 2010
19. Virignia Tech 2007
20. Ohio State 1987
21. South Carolina 2012
22 Texas A&M 1988
23. Georgia 1990
24. Miss State 2000
25. Texas A&M 1990

Those Top 8 pretty much separate themselves from the rest.

Auburn 1988 and Auburn 2005 had two of the loudest single plays:
1988 Earthquake and 2005 Doink
Also 2008 Bama blocked FG and 2003 UGA Skyler TD
And 2007 Auburn TD pass
And Jones to Davis Ole Miss '72

My very first game at age 6 was very loud also:
Oct. 25 1969 LSU 21 Auburn 20

Bama at home 2012 when landry caught the go ahead TD in the corner with under 2 minutes left, i was in that corner and i still have hearing loss....the whole stadium had a whistle where the air was sucked out of the stadium when the ball was in the air and then just a deafoning roar when the catch was made...

He's not calling LSU the Jungle. It's in reference to the Panthers

2000 Mississippi State. Loudest game I've ever been to including the Saints/Atlanta Dome re-opening.

The 1979 USC game. I listened to the game (WWL) while in school at Starkville. Incredible broadcast.

You. Are. Retarded.

I'm good friends with Brandon and know FOR SURE he and his class referred to LSU as "Da Jungle". "Da Bank" is in reference to the Panthers. Get your shite straight before it spews from your mouth next time.

Far and away Florida 07. Went to Saints vs. Vikings in the dome a few years later and that was pretty loud, but 07 Florida might be the loudest sporting event ever

Tebow's first possession in 09( I believe it was 09) when we lost 13-3 was the loudest I've ever heard Tiger Stadium.

'79 USC was not as loud as '07 Florida and several other games. It was an amazing game which obviously was loud, but the perpetuation of the legend of that game as the loudest is just not accurate.

There is no way that 76,000 fans were louder than 93,000 fans. Just no way.

2008 Alabama - the blocked FG to force OT.

I've been to every game listed except for the one in 79 vs USC.

The loudest moments in TS history are the '08 Bama FG block and the '07 UF USC score announcement.

The entire UF '97 game was ridiculous because UF had beat the crap out of LSU for as long as anyone could remember. As the game went on, you could feel the crowd starting to believe that we could actually win. It was a psychological mindset change for LSU Football competing and winning that game.

UT in '00 was loud but not as memorable to me.

UF '07 was probably the best full game along with Alabama '12 even with the loss. I have never left a game feeling the way I did about '12 Bama. I doubt I ever have another one like it...so much emotion built into that one.

It SOUNDED really loud during some games, but then again, after a day of tailgating, 1000 people can sound loud.....

MT was with you every one of these except italicized (2., 6. and 9.) and I would also add vs Bama 69 (20-15W) as 26. which was a loud night game at the time. Although was not there, the loudest radio game was 2., as could barely make out JF call the entire broadcast and even 15 min. after. Also, UW 83 was very loud and was record at the time, would say 27?
Others have mentioned of course ND 71, OM 70, and end of OM 72 could be included top 20. Also recall Auburn 72 as a very loud radio game if anyone out there was there!
