I would be willing to bet that the surgery $$ would have to come out of his own pocket until he was officially enrolled at LSU.

Yes and true. LSU will wait until enrolled. But, he can enroll on Monday for the Fall...can he not?

Pretty sure he is enrolled, since I am already enrolled for this coming fall semester.

Could he enroll early as a freshman that was not academically qualified?

I don't think so...tell me where I'm wrong?

I searched on the net for LSU early enrollment time period and fall deadline. Does anyone know the two time periods LSU allows enrollment and can you provide a link to that page?

Well yea, you have a point but it doesn't take more than a day to enroll so he could already have done so this weekend. Of course, none of this we know I'm just speculating on the hypothetical.

I enrolled during orientation in early june. Some freshman enrolled in the spring, I think in May. I don't know the exact times but you enroll during orientation, but that is different for football players most of the time.

This is great news for him and for LSU. Even if he redshirts (which would be good), we've just avoided another Deangelo situation where he counts for three different signing classes and ends up never being eligible.

god work, Craig!

If the injury occurred in high school, how come he hasn't had the surgery yet?

This sounds like the same injury that my son had in high school. It's called the navicular bone, and as someone else pointed out it has poor blood flow and is slow to heal. My son didn't even know when he broke it - he just knew he had a sore wrist for most of his senior season. Before he played college ball, he had to have surgery. Because he had waited so long, they had to do a bone graft to get it to heal. It took about 6 months for it to be completely healed. The doctor said if he didn't get it fixed, eventually the whole wrist would deterioriate and he would have problems the rest of his life. It's fine now, although he never did get the full range of movement back, but he has no pain.
