We were beaten in every aspect of the game.

Special teams was a disaster after miles said it was improved. It actually got worse.

Miles has had ten years to get the guys HE WANTED, then came the second part, developing them. They got mauled on offense and defense.

Then comes the motivation issue. Folks here say miles is a great recruiter. So he has the talent he wants. But we're they ready to play? He's only lost the last five, so you know he had them ready to play to the extent hat he is able to.

He also thought his gameplan was the best anyone has ever seen: "Show Alabama your manhood". Well he got his handed to him, instead.......again.

It ultimately comes down to how college coaches prepare their teams. It starts in March.

Miles is a cool guy. And his players love him to the point of trying to reward him on game day with great play as seen this year.

But sabans coaches fear him, so they motivate their players that are already scared of Saban too.

He's smart enough to gameplan.......correctly......against miles because he has a good idea that it will come down to lsu and Bama. If Bama beats us, they own the tiebreaker.

So it's difficult to see why the short answer of "coaching" is not, and still not acceptable by the pumpers.

Just look at the microcosm of special teams and tell me that disaster was the product of a well coached team vs another well coached team.

Bama is the measuring stick for miles and he only stands two feet tall to a 5'6" Saban.

Just gonna put this out here since I see a narrative shift on this board.

Y'all do realize that Alabama is not that damn good, right? LSU fans like to pretend otherwise since LSU never looked like the better team, and certainly never looked like they had a chance to win.

Wisconsin put up more points than LSU.

MTSU had 275 yards in offense.

Ole fricking Miss put up 43. And call it a fluke play all you want, but they at least we're in a position to win at some point. They also had 433 total yards. And won. Ole miss. In Bryant Denny.

QBless TAMU put up more points than LSU for fricks sake. They had a QB change mid season.

Yet,

First downs:
LSU 12
Bama 28

Total plays:
LSU 45
Bama 79

Total yards:
LSU 182
Bama 434

Rushing:
LSU 54
Bama 250

TOP:
LSU 20:33
Bama 39:27

Derrick Henry 210 yards and 3 TDs

LSU has a fine ball team and has the athletes to beat anyone in the country, including Bama.

So again, it's not that LSU lost. But it makes you wonder how they managed to get beaten in such a brutal fashion when clearly teams with less talent have played Bama well, and even beaten them.

Surely y'all don't really believe execution is the overall problem.

Good post.

Don't know if this is meant to be sarcasmic, but these were definite turns of momentum that contributed to the loss. After LSU tied the ball game, they gave Bama an unnecessary advantage by kicking the ball out of bounds. An ongoing area of concern that should have been, but has not been corrected. Holding Bama even at 10 would have been huge for the Tigers. The interception cemented the fact that LF would have to continue to run into Bama's solid line for most of the rest of the game.

You are an apologist and part of what's fricking wrong with this program, covering the glaring mistakes of the coaching staff with one or two what if scenarios as if what we are seeing isn't a huge systemic problem that we've seen playing out over the course of 10 years.

This loss is not about one game, it's about the entire approach and PHILOSPHY to the game and how we lose year after year with it to the same damn team. The only time we beat them is a fricking ugly field goal game 9-3 with no TD 's!

This results usually in us tanking our entire season and playing In a shitty bowl game that we don't care about and lose that too.

Combine that with SEVERE attrition of juniors, the likes that have never been seen in CFB history, and you have a recipe for failure. There is a reason they are leaving -and it's a disbelief that they will ever play in or win a championship game with this coach.

Has nothing to do with wanting to go to the NFL. Its because they don't like the coach

A little creativity would have went a long way.

Yeah everybody wants to be a 7th rounder and play on the practice squad for a year and get cut, even after being counseled to NOT go the nfl route yet. Great career choice.

You are saying they made the decision to go pro because they hate the coach. That has to be the most irrational confirmation bias I have seen on this board

beg to differ. I totally agree with you. Have been a pumper up to now, thinking LSU really had something going this year. Saturday's pathetic display of vanilla and stubborn coaching proved that we'll not change, and I now just accept the way things are. What else can we do??

Bama caused the qb change after they played. Kyle Allen was firmly the starter and viewed as being pretty good going into the Bama game.

Funny how Bama changes teams, LSU included, after they play them.

Yeah, people talk about the fluke play, but that happened early in the 3rd quarter. Bama had plenty of time to overcome that. Ole Miss was up 19 points at one point in that game. Bama was fortunate to get a nice bounce on an onside kick and made the game closer.

Yes, Bama had 5 turnovers, but Ole Miss caused a number of them and and still had to put it in the end zone on Bama's vaunted D to make it hurt. And Ole Miss did all of that passing with zero turnovers, so you have to credit them. I can't even imagine what that feels like to be up 19 on Saban's team.

At the very least, get revenge for the NC game.

LSU is pretty damn good too. But Saturday one looked like an NFL team and the other looked like a average division 1 school.

What is the point of your post? Yes Alabama is DAM good. This is not September. Great coaches make their teams improve. If they are not really good what is LSU?
