Even if Gibbs gets a good bunt the next two guys didn't do shite to score anyone. Actually Gibbs fly out would have been perfect to score a player from 3rd, but the ump screwed that up for us.

Where's the bunt??? 1st & 2nd nobody out in 8th & no bunt. Runner on 1st nobody out in 9th, should have pinch hit for Gaudet & bunted. PM choked because he was scared to make a move & not play the percentages. Look at teams like UCLA & Irvine. They make the most of every scoring opportunity while we try to rely too much on our big guys hitting the ball out of the park. Bad coaching job today no matter what anybody says.

Les Miles is telling Mainieri what to do because nobody is that freaking stupid! He doesn't pitch hit for Gaudet to bunt the leadoff batter over?! What the hell is the matter with you?!

to be fair to PM, when he asked Gaudet to bunt last night or friday (can't remember for sure which game), it didn't turn out so well.

I guess now I can concentrate on fully coaching the 8 yr old All Stars team without the distraction of LSU baseball coming on.

Didn't say Gaudet should have bunted. He should have pinch hit for him with somebody that could bunt. Still say bad coaching job today.

while i agree that we should have bunted in the 8th, it doesn't help that clutch hitting was nonexistent for LSU yesterday and today.

It's real easy to say what should've been done after the game. If he would've hit a base hit then it would've been considered a good call. Considering the fact that all year we have rolled the dice and been successful plenty of times I say we made the right decision by not putting them in a position they are not used to being in

Yeah but you can't always rely on clutch hitting. 2nd & 3rd with one out in the 8th anything can happen. Wild pitch, passed bal, SAC fly, "clutch hit" anything. Gives you a lot more options plus stay out of the double play a la 9th inning.
