Yea it was definitely a balk. I wonder if they call the pick off from the dugout or if the pitcher makes his own decision. They are know for running so I’m sure they talked about holding runners. Early season jitters.

VMI has some nice hitters. A lot of these were not lucky hits.

Very true.

I’m talking about the play after the balk and the hit, with a runner on first and Milazzo not in a proper throwing stance causing him to make a weak throw off his knee and having no shot to get a runner he gets 99/100 times when he plays it right

Dude that base was stolen off the pitcher. He had 0 chance of throwing that runner out. It was a desperation attempt.

That steal was 1000% off of the pitcher, not Milazzo.

He had little to no movement on his fastball and the slider from last year was nonexistent. Was a matter of time before balls met barrels. Much work to be done by him. No reason to think he won’t be a solid starter but the bottle of lightening was left in Omaha.

After watching his last scrimmage outing last week I was encouraged by Hurd's performance outside of the leadoff batter in the 1st.

Obviously things unraveled somewhat after the walk and balk. But he easily could/should have been out of there with little to no damage.

VMI put a lot of pressure on our defense and they are good offensively.

I still think Holman should have gotten the start based off of how he's looked In the spring. Pretty sure he gets you through at least 5 innings yesterday even with their pesky bats.
