Looking forward to Bama, it's the first year since 2019

that I don't think the Tide has a talent or coaching edge over our Tigers.

Even in the Miles years, when we had dudes, it always seemed like Bama had more in most years. Then, there is the matter of Saban. Miles only won three times vs Bama; Ed and BK only once.

Last year was close even with a first round draft choice at QB and the game was winnable if the offense had a pulse.

This year Bama is not more talented or deeper, and certainly doesn't have a coaching advantage. There is no reason not to expect a win.

It would be really nice to beat the crap out of them in Tiger Stadium. It's been way too long.

The last time Bama lost on the road and didn't have the field rushed on them was 2010 vs LSU

Hopefully we bookend that streak in 2 weeks

In the miles years we matched up well with bama at rhe skill positions ( WR, DB’s ) and defensive line . It’s just a gigantic mismatch upfront offensively. Miles scheme got stonewalled by Saban more often than not

No, Miles didn’t “ONLY” beat them three times. That was about two more times than what any other SEC coach beat Saban while at Alabama. I can’t think of any other SEC head coach that beat Saban 3 different times at Alabama. So beating a Saban led Alabama team 3 different times was pretty impressive considering he owned the rest of the SEC for over a decade.

Why are you so upset? I wasn't knocking Miles, just pointing out that we got three wins even though we were talented. Bama just had a few more folks, usually on offense. We should have won in 2012 and 14 but we came up short (once thanks to the horrendous and mysterious penalty) in the red zone. And yes, it was only three times, even if that was better than others except Malzahn).

They had a talent edge. Saban stacked #1 recruiting classes year after year.

I feel like our DLine and our edge rushers will cause them big time problems.

LSU along with Tennessee are terrors on the DLine when it comes to rushing the passer.
That will cause Bama massive problems in this game like it did in the Tennessee game

I was looking forward to it in 2022 after we beat Ole Miss and knew playing them would determine the Sec west

I do not look forward to this game. Since the 9-6 game we won in 2011 ... We are (2-13) vs the Tide. (2-13)

The games from 07-14 were just awesome and gut wrenching, the rematch in 2011 being the most painful. But the 2008 / 2012 / 2014 home losses were almost just as devastating. After the 2015 game when LF7 got stoned, I really just began to hate this game every year. Because it essentially meant the end of a meaningful season.

It took the best team ever, Heisman winning QB's, and OT to just barely beat them TWICE in 15 tries.

When Saban retired, I had new hope. Nope. And surprise fricking surprise, here we are again, and the end of a meaningful season is determined by beating them.

It'll depend on how the game goes. Obviously there won't be a rush if we lose. But if we win comfortably where we control the game most of the way and just grind it out til the clock hits zero I think there's a decent chance there's no rush. If it's an exciting finish at the buzzer in walkoff fashion then yeah it'll probably get rushed.
