He's actually looking pretty good so far.

1 game. 2 goal line TDs, and a 35 yard TD where nobody touched him and the hole was huge. Any of our backs would of scored on that run.

That said, Hilliard did look better last game than he had all of last season and the first weeks of this season.

And if LSU would have taken 3 RBs last year, and LF decided to go elsewhere, you would be freaking the frick out.

Doesn't stop Bama from getting backs.

they took Tenpenny, Kamara, Henry, and Tyren Jones last year. All 4 stars or higher.

This year they've got Scarbrough and they're going hard after John Smith and Fournette.

The year before they took Yeldon and Kenyan Drake.

It seems we should follow suit, no?

He did bounce it outside so his vision was good there.

I know he's just getting goal line and garbage work but I sense a quicker burst, better cuts, etc..

So they were just coasting, but now that UGA's backup RB got hurt they are an energized bunch? That is what you call a reach.

You're a fool if you don't believe in momentum and a team that is energized.

Some seem to think there is a verbal commitment/agreement between Miles and LF and thats why we havent signed anyone else.

Going with your thought though, didnt we do something similar with Seastrunk (not take a RB the previous year b/c he was a lock to LSU?, or maybe we took one RB only the year before). We could have signed someone good, maybe Christine Michael that ended up at A&M if memory serves.

Why would UF not be energized? They are in the same position as UGA when it comes to winning the east.

I promise you that team doesn't give a shite about UGA's injuries this week.

I 100% believe in momentum and an energized team. I do not believe momentum and energy is derived from a divisional opponents backup running back's injury however. If they need something like that to motivate them, they are weak and pathetic.

And you're an even bigger fool if you believe they wouldn't have those things without the injuries to Georgia.

you really think that Florida is now like "Yay! We can now win! Woohoo! We should play harder now that we have a chance!"

Good one. If they are worried about Georgia this week, then they are already screwed.

So tell me again why would a UF team that is undefeated in SEC play, now all of a sudden be "playing for the east"?

Wait a minute, are you sure about that? I thought the chances of Florida winning the East went out the window when they lost that game, and Georgia's injuries are the only reason they now have a chance, the only reason they will play hard this weekend, etc?

How the hell was this a mistake? We have 4 very capable backs this year and for next year we should be signing several, a couple of which could step in and play immediately.

Why are you so stupid?

That's a lot of assumptions.

1. LF doesn't go to Bama or USC (Joe McKnight anyone?)
2. LF isn't a bust. (Joe Mcknight anyone?)
3. Paleilei is ready to play
4. all of our backs are eligible for the draft. It sure didn't stop our guys last year. Even if they weren't projected to be high picks.

That said, we'll probably be more than fine. However, if you're being objective it was still a mistake and unnecessary risk.

If I told you back in '11 we'll lose Ford and Ware early and not take any RBs in '12 adn '13, you would've been like, "oh, that sounds like a good idea." ?

They saw Hill taking their carries and knew he was coming back. If Hill is gone, then Hilliard and Magee know the starter position is up for grabs.

After last season's mass exodus I'll never assume any player is not declaring early. And RBs get hurt often. And you can never assume a recruit will sign with LSU.

Does all this mean LSU should've picked up a RB last two years? I dunno. Miles doesn't see seem to have a problem managing RBs. But two yrs does seem a long time to go without bringing in a new one.
