Look-I agree Benford is not, will not, and should not be WWs permanent replacement. But...

Does anybody really believe the results of the Florida game in the SEC tournament or either of these first two playoff games would’ve been any different with WW on the bench? We have watched this team all year long do just what they’re doing. I want WW back as much as anyone. He’s an exceptional leader and recruiter and I’m sure he is a capable bench coach but he is certainly not elite as a game coach imo.

I do think Wade wins the UF game.

I've said it in another thread:

This is the third game in a row where the opposing team has gone without fouling for 8+ minutes in the second half.

Part of that is coaching. We saw Benford get the tech against UF for the 6-point play. I don't think Wade lets it get to that point.

It took Benford 17:00 minutes to figure out how to attack a 2-3 zone. I'll Pass

Benford wouldn't have gotten the T if the stupid effin' zebras had made the right call on the 3 point shot. No shot foul/3 points, no T.

It's that simple.

Then why do you...

Based on what’s recorded and his absence on the bench, it doesn’t seem that this is the case.

Dude, Wade would have called time out. Said if I see another 3 w/o getting the ball in the paint, you are on the pine. It was horrible coaching. We won the game on a drive to the goal. That should have been the entire 2nd half.

I’m thankful benford has been a stabilizing guy. However, his in game coaching is poor.

We’re better obviously with WW but I think Benford is staying the course. He’s a players coach more than WW imo and that’s fine but where we are missing wade is when things go wrong and get away from them he is good at reining them in. Also he never let them feel like they have arrived so to speak. So they wouldn’t get complacent

How do you know what’s recorded?
Because a reporter said so? Have you heard it? Has anyone confirmed it?

So, you have no skepticism at all about at best a partial and illegal leak from an indicted criminal, which was reported by a reporter who likely had no way of verifying the “transcript”?

OK.

But haven’t you seen in the last couple of years reports that turned out to be partially or completely false when subjected to scrutiny?

If it turns out that Wade paid a player to come to LSU, then he’ll be fired for cause.

But maybe we should refrain from judgment until all information is out. What is there to lose by reacting cautiously?

Surely you can see that there is a potential serious cost to reacting rashly. What if you’re wrong? You’re basing your opinion on things you couldn’t possibly know for sure.

Benford didn’t get a T this game. The other coach did and gave us two points. We won by two points. Our coach was composed. Maryland’s was not.

If LSU refuses to reinstate Wade, then they are as much as throwing away the chance to win. We have the talent to win it all, but from here on out we’ll be facing elite coaching. I appreciate what Benford has done and how he has held the team together, but we need Wade now.
