S - Grant Delpit (SO) - number 66
S - Jacoby Stevens (SO) - number 18
S - Eric Monroe (SO) - number 55
S - Todd Harris (SO) - number 86
LB - Michael Divinity (JR) - number 64
LB - Devin White (JR) - First-Team All-American

dont drag me back down to earth yet, dude. just give me these last few days of unrepentant optimism.

and I think I posted this here, cant remember, but heres the composite rankings for the 1s

DE - Rashard Lawrence (JR) - number 23
NT - Breiden Fehoko (JR transfer) - number 51
DE - Glen Logan (SO) - number 156
BENCH LB - K'Lavon Chaisson (SO) - number 37
MLB - Jacob Phillips (SO) - number 61
ROVER - Devin White (JR) - number 135
FIELD LB - Michael Divinity (JR) - number 64
CB - Greedy Williams (SO) - number 219
SS - John Battle (SR) - number 406
FS - Grant Delpit (SO) - number 66
CB - Kelvin Joseph (FR) - number 42
or CB - Kristian Fulton (JR) - number 22

12 names there, and only 4 of the 12 were outside the top 100.

2 of the 4 lowest are Greedy and Devin, the AA's

Not only is the recruiting on defense stellar but the coaching schemes between O and Aranda are definitely going to be worth getting your hopes up for.

What was your favorite part of the changes O made to the D after Miles got fired?

Mine was that he kept not fricking with Aranda’s Defense.

If you just go by the "official depth chart" our backups constitute our two highest rated defensive players in the two deep, and four of the top 10.

We have 10 starters rated above 0.900 and 7 backups rated similarly.

And I'm not even counting Shelvin.

You put all of this talent into the hands of Dave Aranda and I don't know how folks think they can score against us with any consistency.

Guys like Ray Thornton and Andre Anthony, who we all view as "solid contributors" but not starters were rated as > 0.9200 out of high school. Greedy was 0.9164.

Just imagine if Dave is able to get out of them close to what he gets out of Greedy.

I might go back over this are see what the scores are, that really is about the only thing that matters. people say numbers dont lie but I love stats and I assure you numbers lie their arse off constantly. stars can tell you next to nothing (a 4 star could mean anything from number 34 to number 339), and number 25 overall one year might be a 20 one year and a 30 the next.

You could tell early on though that greedy just outplayed his stars tho. Truly a gem and I don’t think he can be the standard bearer for low 4-stars lol

How do you know what O does with the defense?

He's a big-time o hater. But he has no idea what kind of input O has on defense

I wish TD recognized "tab" so this would look better. But here are our "ratings" per 247 for each player in the 2 deep (based on the official depth chart).

Defense
Position Starter Rating Backup Rating
OLB Michael Divinity 0.9675 Ray Thornton 0.9206
DE Glen Logan 0.9318 Justin Thomas 0.8681
NT Breiden Fehoko 0.9753 Ed Alexander 0.9665
DE Rashard Lawrence 0.9847 Neil Farrell 0.8847
OLB K’Lavon Chaisson 0.9821 Andre Anthony 0.9216
ILB Jacob Phillips 0.9719 Damone Clark 0.8923
ILB Devin White 0.9393 Patrick Queen 0.8955
CB Kelvin Joseph 0.9784 Kristian Fulton 0.9861
FS John Battle 0.8800 Todd Harris 0.9589
SS Grant Delpit 0.9679 Jacoby Stevens 0.9901
CB Greedy Williams 0.9164 Kary Vincent 0.9567

deductive reasoning

1. No change between the D before and after Les’s firing.

2. The defense did change between Steele and Aranda despite O being on both staff’s.

3. We just paid 2.5 million to save Aranda.

All this combined makes me deduce that at most Ed O has as much say in the defense as he did under Miles.

This absolutely isn’t “Aranda and Os scheme”

Definitely.

I love that O doesn’t get involved with out Defebse past our DL.

I dont Think a human alive including O would pick O to be their DC over Aranda. Or want O making any major decisions on Defense over Aranda.
