You butt hurt people need to let it go. Playing in the Cotton Bowl and missing out on the Cap One Bowl won't hurt LSU one bit. LSU has been in the spotlight on national TV many, many times in the past few years, and they will be again next year and into the foreseeable future. We're undoubtedly going to get a tougher game Friday than we would have gotten today, but even if we lose, it doesn't hurt the program in the long run.
