Wade hasn’t gotten past the 2nd rd of the tournament. Hes far from elite. Hes good. But why not take the Arkansas route? They swung big and landed calipari

That's because Kentucky wanted to get rid of Calipari. What HOF coach is the market today whose current school wants to get rid of him?

Arkansas didn't "steal" Calipari. It provided him a great landing spot ahead of his inevitable firing at Kentucky. On that note, it also shows you what "swinging big" gets you in college basketball. Kentucky was happy to see Cal go because they were going to use all of their money and prestige to "swing big" and make a big hire. Then every "big hire" turned them down

As far as I’m concerned, this is just the universe evening things out for all the suffering we endured from the Saban thing.

I would expect nothing else.
Can you imagine this board if the situation were reversed?

UK didn’t want to get rid of him. Yes they were frustrated, but they weren’t going to fire him. He quit bc he felt unappreciated. They could have tried to get a better coach.

Did you think the coach at Indiana was elite before he made it to the CFP and then won the National Championship?

They play in a dying conference that lags far behind the SEC and B1G financially. As soon as Clemson and FSU can figure a way out of the GOR or the GOR expires, the ACC will immediately be on life support and either dissolve or become an east coast version of the new PAC-12. Considering NC State is one of the less likely programs to get an invite to the B1G or SEC when that happens, Will Wade wasn’t staying at NC State long term even if the LSU opportunity wasn’t available

Yes he had the potential to be a great coach in the big league. he coached under Saban and he never had a losing record as a head coach. He lead a team to the championship game and semi finals on a couple of occasions.
