UCLA returns their entire lineup or practically all from last year's Omaha team. Plus some good recruits / portal transfers. As well, they play in the weak Big 10 & should be a lock to host all the way back to Omaha, State's high rankings are based on a good returning team as well as some good transfers. But another basis is their new coach, from Virginia where he was highly successful.

Well so far they have beaten the two SEC teams they’ve played 12-5 and 11-1…

I see the makings of a UCLA upset in the CWS. Somebody gonna spoil their darling season.

Brought back almost their entire lineup and have likely #1 pick in the draft
Most of the guys have been playing together a long time and they added the Texas transfer Gasparino that grew up with those players
On top of that they added a really good transfer pitcher and got a top pitcher to forego draft out of high school which improved their staff
With that said the best team doesn’t always win and it’s a long season but you have to be impressed with who they’ve played non conference because most teams don’t do that

UCLA is the best team in the country

At this point it seems as though they are.

The thing with baseball is that the most talented team in the country does not always take home the trophy. Only time will tell.

Whenever someone starts crowning a baseball team as champion at any point before the final out of the season, I always point to Oregon State 2017.

You just never know. Two down performances is all it takes to end your season

I find it funny that the same exact people who lose their minds over LSU dropping a midweek game, or simply not winning by enough in some games, are the same exact people that will suck off another team while ignoring their loses.

It goes both ways. The same people that push aside bad performances by LSU will use bad performances by other SEC teams early in the year to explain why they aren’t good. Most knowledgeable baseball fans know what this part of the season is used for.
