these people are idiots. They are judging a guy when they don't even know what happened. Lets say i went up and punched a guy, someone catches a video off it and people call me a thug. What that video doesn't show is the guy i punched dumping a beer on head 30 seconds prior to that.
Looked like after Hill hit him, the guy was squaring up to go again. Then the guy with the torn shirt hit him from behind.
If the earlier fight (and there was one bc the second guy had a torn shirt) involved Hill directly then maybe Hill's move was a 5 on the dick meter.

There was a previous fight obviously.
Anyone who is just looking at this video and thinking it started and stopped there are complete morons.

Why do people keep assuming this incident started at 0:01 of this smartphone video clip?
It definitely didn't start at 0:01 but it looked to be over at 0:01.
That is until Hill went after the retreating dude and sucker punched him. And then his buddy cleaned the guy up. And then they congratulated each other.

Yeah, Miles would never kick a Heisman trophy finalist off the team without a single arrest
who failed at least 10 drug tests while at LSU.
that really reflects positively on Miles.

. Or suspend his starting QB for half a season for a bar fight. I mean
missed 4 games. 1st offense

he has no record of giving out big suspensions to high profile players.
Im not talking suspensions. Im talking dismissal

Maybe. Or maybe the guy said he was going to his car and getting the crowbar. Or a knife. Or a gun.
Who the hell knows?

After reading through about a 3rd of this I couldn't take anymore. So I apologize if I repeating something that's already been said.
First off it's clear that a large portion of this incident occurred before the video started. First you've got Bayardo's shirt already ripped to shreds and you've got "Anthony" on the ground. My guess is he's on the ground due to an altercation rather than just being drunk. When Anthony gets up and starts walking forward you hear a girl shouting for him to stop. All this indicates to me that Anthony had gotten the worst of an altercation with one of Hill's group and then wouldn't leave it alone.
Hill was pretty stupid for taking a punch, but this doesn't seem so bad as to warrant throwing him off the team. The real question is not what punishment does Hill deserve, but rather what punishment is BEST for Hill. And by that I mean what punishment is most likely to get him to avoid trouble in the future. Normally I would say 3 to 4 games to ensure that he was sitting out a big game (as that should have an impact), but missing TCU in Jerry world should cover that. So, I think a 2 game suspension is probably good, but I would still be tempted to go as high as 4 games just to make sure he knew the seriousness of his situation. Let's face it, I don't know that Hill would remain on the team if he has another incident after this.

Why the frick are y'all defending this chickenshit?.
Hill wasn't beat up and his shirt wasn't ripped. It's guy code to look out for your buddy but its still a pussy sucker punch and stupid when his arse should have been inside for his curfew that he already had.
frick y'all for defending this shite. How many of y'all called for JJ head because u didnt like his play and that was the reason needed to replace him? Probably a lot

You can see Hill wobbly at the very end of the video obviously drunk. Doesn't excuse Hill's sucker punch nor does earlier involvement but this wasn't a "wilding" type thing where they were thugs arbitrarily knocking the shite out of people. It's a fight in a bar parking lot and not uncommon.

And at LSU, this is Hill's first offense (from a team discipline standpoint, not the police). The insinuation that Miles is soft on players and let's his star players do whatever is plainly false. The evidence is actually overwhelming the opposite. Miles has suspended players pretty consistently, regardless of star status.

Not too many people are defending Hill's actions, most are just saying it doesn't warrant expulsion or a lengthy suspension.

So when a fight is over and a guy is walking away, I should run up and sucker punch so he doesn't come back with a weapon?

He's got to know better. Still think this was between the dude who got hit and the orange shorts guy, who was more than likely Hill's friend.

If Hill, after the guy fell, had gone over and repeatedly stomped the guys head, then I'd be calling for his head. But this looks like a fight with drunk guys and one sucker punch.

I think hill is lucky the dude he hit didn't get a hold of him
Posted on 7/12/13 at 3:33 pm to Geaux23
So what happened to the guy who put him on the ground at the beginning of the video and the guy that hit him from behind?
Posted on 7/12/13 at 3:33 pm to GCTiger11
If this was your buddy or brother or son, you'd say this, "frick Hill". I wouldn't want him on our team if he was a recruit; I don't want him on the team now.

Uh two sucker punches buddy. Anyone saying that Hill didnt throw a sucker punch is crazy

When you compare the stars to the "nobodies", you couldn't be more wrong.

which mean his leash should be even shorter.
the video proves that he's not defending himself. It's a pure cheap shot. He shouldn't be on the team. Regardless if he connected, or knocked the guy out, or whatever the end result was.

This.
The dude didn't back down one iota when Hill punched him. He squared up and was ready to fight.

Young or not when your gettin a free ride to play ball there's responsibility thst comes with it. I know kids will be kids but hill is old enough to use better judgment and he will have to pay the consequences of his actions.
