Wonder what Hampton's deal is. He was a projected first-second round pick out of high school until he made it clear he was going to be playing baseball/football at LSU. I went to the same high school as him and actually ran into him and one of my/his high school coaches that was with him on a his visit (the Alabama game in 2018). Coach told me that his asking price was over 2 million to sign. Would really hate it for him if he can't turn it around on the football field and can't get on the field in baseball when he turned down a lot of money to come here.

I really hope he turns into a Jared Mitchell type player for us. Mitchell struggled a little early on until he committed more time to baseball. Maybe if he gets passed up on the depth chart at safety next season, he may hang up the shoulder pads and focus on baseball full time.
Either way, I hope he contributes in whatever sport(s) he decides to play.

His deal is he is trying to play two sports at an elite level in the toughest division of the toughest conference in both of those sports. You just can’t do that anymore.
The arms in the SEC are too good to not be practicing baseball for 6 months out the year then just pick up a bat a month before the season starts then leave for a couple weeks in the middle of SEC play.

Drost should be playing in front of Bianco. Kid was the number 1 recruit in the state last year and can hit. I’m not sure why he wasn’t an option.
