LF7: To Pro or Not To Pro

Everyone seems to have their minds made up that he's gone; except for him. Listen to him talk about it. Look into his eyes. Feel the humility. Hell, read the latest articles: nola.com 99.999999% sure he gone
He's not once publically stated an intention to leave early. He has stated, from the beginning, that his goal was to be at LSU for 4 years & earn his degree.
Yes, he's slated as a Top 10 pick-maybe even still Top 5. However, consider his 3 seasons worth of stats & team season records...he has yet to earn an invite to New York or a playoff berth.
He truly loves LSU. He has commented about how he'd love to be the all-time leader & what that would mean to him as well as the university. Yes, we all know he has a family to support & that money talks while bullshite walks. However, Shaq has been a mentor/resource to him.
While VERY slim at this point, I can only imagine what his commitment to remain at LSU for his senior year would do for:
1. Whomever the next HC is
2. LSU as a whole
3. His even greater draft stock & endorsement marketability
4. The decisions of many teammates on the bubble about returning
5. The ripple affect for immediate & near future recruiting
6. Ticket sales & attendance for the 2017 underwhelming home slate of games
7. Would 91% guarantee he gets a bronze statue on campus
Fun & hopeful to think & dream about late on a Sunday night after such a painful loss. But yes, I'm saying there's a chance...(which isn't wrong, just extremely doubtful)

I want him to go pro for his own good. Time to look out for his own future

He has an insurance policy, does that carry over if he did return?
And of course he should go pro now

Certainly not getting my hopes up. But enjoying the notion of a CHANCE. No matter how small.
Need something to smile about after Saturday/this season/last 5 years.

I hope he goes pro. It would be better for him and for us. We need to move away from all the Les Miles stuff.

You have a better chance of winning the Power Ball the LF staying one more year .

LF7 was going Pro after his JR. year from the time he stepped on Campus....What has changed ???

He chose LSU over Alabama. In his three years here, he has zero SEC west titles, SEC titles, Heisman trophies, playoff appearances, or National championships. His team has not finished with a Top 20 ranking yet.
Meanwhile, Alabama is going for their third consecutive national championship this season.

It's not just about Leonard's football accomplishments at LSU. He has a family to consider. Going to the NFL now will set them up for life. Why risk that by staying one more year?

Doubt he stays but here's the argument for why:
1. Embarrassed by Alabama every time- can dominate everyone but Alabama. May want to prove he can beat them.
2. As he's said in recent interviews - college life is fun whereas afterward is all business
3. Going pro may set him up for years, many feel that finishing your education sets you up for life. My degree is collecting dust so I can't say how accurate that one is.
4. Pride again, wanting to win the Heisman and/or a National Championship.
Doubt he stays but there are a few factors that can get him there. While I read that he was a three year guy coming in, I've never heard him say it. He's too aware of hisself to say anything like that which would detract from the team.

Out of your 7 reasons, 6 are what's good for LSU, 1 is good for Fournette. Fournette needs to go Pro and secure his future and for Lyric. This years injury highlights the risk of losing it all to an injury or freak accident off the field. Thankful he chose LSU!

He should stay in school and get his degree. RBs are barely lasting 8-10 years these days. Guaranteed if he stays healthy and produces, he'll get a nice contract to make it worth it. But again, 8-10 years is not enough to build a fortune to retire on, especially with how these NFL guys spend their money.
He should get his degree, but he will go pro.
Thanks for the memories good sir.

Did he got hurt this season. frick that. He should go work. He should have say the rest of the season but he wasn't having it

His first NFL contract will set him up for life if he is financially disciplined and the right people around him. His daughter is the other reason he will go Pro. There is no good reason to stay other than a chance to finally beat BAMA, and with 18 SRS departing, don't like our team chances next year doing that.

I hope he goes.
Time to move on.
Rest of the JRs need to stick around.
