I approve this message. Who gives a damn if you do the wave, you are having a good time. As long as you stay the whole game and not bitch about everything you can do whatever the hell you want.

I thought only women and kids were interested in the wave? I'm usually paying attention to the game. Maybe I was wrong to assume most other men do the same thing?

Bingo! We have a winner. The women and kids love it. While its old to most of us, there are kids there who are seeing the wave for the first time. And they think it's pretty cool. Also, there's no way to stop it.

Your talking about our student section, brah. That's one of the greatest student sections in all of sports.

They wanna way? Fine with me. I'll even wave back.

Sure there is a way to stop it. Hit that fig that tries to start in the bottom of the student section.

I don't really give a frick if it starts when the game is practically over, if we are up by 28 in the 3rd. But that is rarely the case under Miles, so some douche usually starts it when we are up 7 or 10 in the 3rd

the consensus on here seems to be that we only do the wave when we're winning,

DO THE WAVE DO THE WAVE!

Where did anyone get the idea that there are 2 classes of fans in TS, the one who do the wave and the ones who leaver early. I see just the opposite, the wavers aren't engaged in the game, they want to play around, do stupid shite, bother the people around them with questions like, 'what inning is it?'

The true fan is locked on to the game, hates distractions from the non-watchers like the wave and the sorority girl beachballers (thanks, whoever you are on the NE25 who in 2007 grabbed the beachball as it was going by, popped it and threw it to the ground, you are an American hero). You are at a game it the greatest college football venue in the world, watch it.

If you were in the first time wave at Tiger Stadium, you would do it as I do - in an Izod shirt, madras shorts and sperry topsiders.

I'd sacrifice having to sit through the wave, beachballs, "two bit" etc., if only our student
section would quit embarrassing the rest of the stadium, the university, the alumni, and the millions of LSU fans with their SELFISH, DISGUSTING, OUT OF PLACE, MORONIC, SELFISH, IDIOTIC, MADE-UP, AND SELFISH chants and cheers.

It only disgraces LSU and perpetuates stereotypes and myths that DON'T have anything to do with the rest of the fan base or school.

As a student and alumnus from the mid-80's - EVERY cheer, chant, song, etc was sung and played by TGBFTL. The students then had """"""""""""""""""""PRIDE""""""""""""""""""" unlike the childish, SELFISH students of today.

Do you enjoy TRASHING YOUR OWN SCHOOL ?????
If I could I'd make every student wear electrical tape across their mouths and pin their hands to their waists.......truly very sad to see what the LSU student section has become.....

It can't be that great, its only 10,000 kids. There are some schools with student sections approaching 30,000 kids.

Sure, the wave is goofy and mildly annoying.

But I find the drunks who drop gratuitous F-bombs with every inane comment a lot more irritating.
No, you aren't smarter than Les.
No you aren't funny.
No, adding "f***in'" as an adjective before every noun doesn't give your opinions gravitas.

Metry, I love ya but we weren't better in the 80's. I think the student section was even worse then. I still remember standing in the tunnel formation in the 1983 game against the gumps and the booming cheer from the student section of "D E A D the Bear is DEAD!" So many LSU students in our time were so drunk at games. Now I barely even smell alcohol in the stadium.

True dat LA....

I just hate the way today's student section's selfishness has ELIMINATED cherished traditional songs from being played by TGBFTL, that's all.
They have no shame at some of the chants that THEY think are funny, but not the other 75,000 in the stands or the national TV audience.

At least in our era, the band could play EVERY SONG, EVERY CHEER, without it sounding like a GoodFellas/Pulp Fiction/Jerry Springer-fest.

Tiger Stadium is going to be Wave-free for a while. I don't even know when we play Tulane again.
