you must not come here often, there are plenty of fortune tellers on this very board. You would be amazed at how far they can see into the future.

You've come to wrong place for credible information sir.........Tigerdroppings is good place for breaking a story.........after that truth falls out the window.

I couldn't in your position either sir............Appreciate your input.......these guys on the rant have big time sources (sarcasm) so its really hard to give them a rational perspective........
Don't let this place get you down............A LARGE MAJORITY OF Tigerdroppings and THE TIGER NATION IN GENERAL are excited about young Mr. Lee and his obvious dedication to being a student athlete. We need more young men like him in purple and gold.

Limited amount of Money < a degree
Over the course of a career of 30 years a bachelor's degreeing earning you 60000 per year is worth 1.8 million!

My sister and brother in law (Zach's parents)have a very healthy attitude about it all.. I just can't help myself sometimes...
For those of you convinced that Zach will sign with the Dodgers, please ask yourselves why his uncle would spend so much time on this board if LSU was only leverage to get the best deal from the Dodgers. If you've kept up at all, you know that his family believes that Zach will likely end up playing at LSU.
I, for one, am looking forward to watching your nephew play for LSU.

I think we've got him!!!
I hope he stays @ LSU!!!!
I would be really mad if he goes to The Dodgers

Zach's not going to sign for anything less than 2.85 million at the VERY least. He's got as much leverage possible...1)senior in high school 2)two sport athlete
The Dodgers have NEVER given a player more than 2.3 million for a signing bonus and I don't see them topping that this year.
This. I can't see CG being cut and having only JJ and JL to deal with. BB is there too but come on.

No one knows what the future holds regarding whether Zach will be the starting QB in a couple of years or not, but I will guarantee you this...
If Zach is the returning starter at QB with one season left on a team that has a chance to win the conference or more.. He will come back for his last year.. This 3 year and out stuff is not in his makeup.. The kid has way too much loyalty to do that.. If it was about the money, Zach would be in the Dodgers organization right now..
Lot's of speculation on these boards that is way off the mark..
One other thing that needs to be said.. The coaching staff doesn't have any sort of backroom deal with Zach and his family that guarantees playing time.. I think you are selling your coaching staff short to think they would do that.. I know Zach doesn't expect anything to be given to him.. He knows it will take a lot of hard work to earn the starting job, but he won't shrink from it.. If the staff thinks it's in the team's best interest to redshirt him, then so be it.. Zach really likes and trusts this coaching staff.. They are good men.
Zach is a competitor like no one I have ever known.. He has a single-mindedness to accomplish his goals and expects no favors.. Zach will take tough classes, make good grades and work as hard or harder than anyone on the football team..
As I said.. No one knows the future.. I can't say Zach will be the greatest thing since slice bread or that he will lead the Tigers to a National Championship.. I just know that he has some gifts and he has an unbelievable ability to handle pressure.. More importantly he is a great kid that will work hard and stay out of trouble..

I've heard the kid is 'asking' for more like $5 mill, so $1.5 doesn't stand so tall with those kind of expectations. Talented kids today don't look at the magical 'million dollars' quite the same way they did even five years ago. Ya gotta wonder what the talented kids in junior high will be asking in a few years.....

On this board? Not a chance!
With only 11 posts, you'll learn! And Welcome!
On this subject, since you're close to the situation as a relative of a recruit, how does the criticism of Les, Crowton and the rest of LSU's coaching staff sit with you and the Lee family? What effect, if any, does it have on your family's feelings/perception of the LSU fan base?
I realize that with only 11 posts, unless you've been lurking for a while, you may not have seen a lot of the critical posts, of which there are many.
Personally, I like Les and am glad we have him.

NOT if your degree is in General Studies, which is the degree that so many (Not all) football players graduate with. You're not walking out of LSU with a GS degree and immediately start making 60K per year unless Mommy/Daddy own a business and you have a job reserved for you upon graduation. GS is good only for padding your GPA as a pre-requisite for Grad School. But, if you're an ex-LSU football player GS Grad, chances are that some rich LSU Alum/Business owner will hire you. (Probably don't even need a degree if you're an ex-Tiger) That's a fringe benefit of playing football at LSU......

I like how posters on here laugh at the possibility of a recruit passing up the MLB for lsu when a relative of his is basically assuring the fans he's coming.
This site cracks me up.

I don't think anyone is assuring the fans that he is basically coming.
The intent of that post is to clear the air on any back door deals between Zach Lee and the staff.
I have no doubts that Zach Lee willingly leveraged his position, but this does not exclude any agents on his behalf from doing such. IMO, it would be foolish not to.
There is a very real possibility that the Dodgers are slow playing this kid, and eventually throw 2.5 on the table at the deadline.
I think Lee realizes the combined potential he has to win championships at LSU. He could be the key missing ingredient in both sports. I'm not calling him a savior, but if this relative's description is spot on, it sure sounds like he could be the missing piece.
And apparently, Miles and Mainieri agree. In the end, the kid stands to cash in either way.

Good to have a kid who isn't a product of our rapidly growing entitlement society.

If you're comparing it to what someone offers him today, you have to discount that $1.8 million to present value. Depending on the discount rate you apply (I used 5%), its present value is less than half that.
