This is what I said on page 1
I stand by that. Agree to disagree.

he's slowly becoming a national icon, in a positive way. His 'uniqueness' represents the uniqueness of South Louisiana.

This couldn't be further from the truth, I live in the south but not in Louisiana, every single time I tell people I'm an LSU fan the other person laughs their arse off, tells me how much of a loser, douchbag bag les miles is. That doesn't happen a few times, every time 100 percent. Is that what a national icon is?
Based off your post history, that response probably has more to do with you.

But if you like him what do you like?
He is a players coach and never throws the players under the bus. He takes the blame a large % of time when something goes wrong. Example, Ole Miss game last year, saying he didn't have them ready to play. When truthfully, Mett had a bad game, 3 picks before half did us in.
Great recruiter. Willing to go out and get the best coordinators he can. Examples, Chavis, Cam Cameron.
He is now a national household name.
A few years ago I wasn't as high on Miles. But he's kinda won me over the last few years. Winning is all about scheduling. It's not his fault we've literally had the toughest schedule regarding opponents from the SEC East.

You wanna make a bet?
How many fans of SEC schools tell you "I love les, I'm so jealous, wish we had em"

When 8-5 with a bowl victory is your worst of 9 seasons, you're doing a good job.

How many fans of SEC schools want to switch coaches with anyone they compete against? It's a very very very small percent

Well hell, caps mode has been engaged.

He does this because it benefits him and the team.
Miles is a good coach, Saban is a great one.

tduecen, i can't tell if you have really turned positive for miles. you have been such a hit man for sooo long, that your reputation is imprinted and stained to me. welcome, if you are out of the negative and into the real.
i guess i have no trouble admitting that i am human. i have made sooo many mistakes in my life that i find compassion for others. i love les miles and his coaching. i appreciated his handling of rp. he did it to protect his team from a cancer. lsu won a lot of respect with his principles.
posters like kjntgr and other negative posters are not in anyway perfect, but, they have learned to criticize in their infant nurtureing stage. they are just repeating the judgement that they suffered from their parents. esp their fathers.
posters here are but a reflection of their feelings about themselves. kjntgr is saying more about his own self worth than about miles.
have compassion for kjntgr, he is one sick puppy.

quote:So because his kids had issues had issues as an adult and teen that would make him a "bad" parent. Sounds like he has dealt with issues that any parent has just on a larger scale because of who he is.
conversely, you want to claim you think he may be a decent parent cause you met him a few times and he seemed 'to care'?
I'll take the consistency of deviant behavior from his children as better insight over your few times sensing his 'care'

What makes Les from any other coach? They do what benefits them....
