Then the Ducks HC should not call timeouts! This means hey we still think we have a chance!

There was an Oregon injury. They were forced to call a timeout.

Game was over and out of reach. Urban is an arse.

Wish LSU had some of the killer instinct. Go for the kill.

The kill had already been made. That was like shooting a dead deer.

They're up by 15, less than a minute to go. The game is over.

So? Whats your point? Stop them if you don't want them to score.

Maybe so...but this is part of what we don't do well at LSU and that is put our foot on someone's neck and crush the life out of them.

Sunshine pumpers should not make that comparison.
How long has each been coaching? How many programs has Urban built?
How many QBs has Urban coached to championship level.

Perhaps running up the score at that point was Urban's way of indicating what dominance OSU had in the game. The score could have been far worse than 42-20.

Oh and Oregon doesn't run up the score on their hapless victims either I really hate these " everyone gets a trophy "types.

jeez, he just ran off tackle. Does Oregon have any responsibility for not stopping them???

This "running up the score" thing is really getting ridiculous. Yes, if Meyer was running double reverses and flea-flickers with a minute left and up two scores, I'd say that's classless.

But he's just running the ball. If Oregon doesn't want them to score any more points, play better defense.

Oregon did not call their last two timeouts. When OSU snapped the ball on the TD, the clock was running with 12 to go on the play clock. Oregon surrender and urban shot them anyway.

Bulls#@t. They didn't surrender but called the first one which would send a signal that they thought they could make a comeback. No reason to hold back. If they wanted to try to stage a comeback, try it against a 3 score game instead of a 2.

Oh so now people like Urban Meyer on here?

So exactly when do you guys want class and when don't you?

You want to have "classy" players but you want a shitebag coach. Doesn't work like that.

I don't agree with coaches running up the score when: 1. It's impossible for the opposing team to win even if they score 2. Even with Oregon's tempo, there's no chance they do because the clock is now an enemy too.

Define "impossible."

Would Western Kentucky think it's "impossible" for Central Michigan to come back in the 4th quarter from a 49-14 deficit? But they did.

Would Baylor think it's "impossible" for Michigan State to come back from a 20 point deficit in the 4th quarter. They did.

Would Pitt think it's "impossible" for Houston to win when they're up 21 points with 4 minutes left? But that did.

The moral of the story: never take your foot off the gas. Play to the final whistle.

The goal is to win the game at all costs. Les is too busy "honoring" the other team, like he did Bama. "We are honored to play that team", let's only beat them by a TD so their feelings won't be hurt. The last thing he should do is honor those turds, beat the shite out of them and keep moving.

People can say what they want about Coach Miles, the bottom line is he is a classy guy and would have shown repsect ot his opponent. He would NOT have scored that last touchdown, he would have had the QB kneel. That is the right thing to do.

to me the best example to take a knee is Ben Wilkerson. LSU ran the ball up by 20 on the last play of the game against Vanderbilt and our all American center tore his ACL on the play and was out for the year. There is not a better reason to kill the game when victory is secured. Has Zeke gotten an injury on that play, you think CUM would have regretted it and changed his philosophy going forward?

Maybe but he didn't so its a moot point. You cant just sit and spew out hypotheticals as a reason to act or not act.
