I'm in Denver today and it's the primary thing they're discussing on sports talk radio, that Miles loves Colorado, and it's rumored he has been in discussion with the athletic department and board of regents, McCartney and Miles are very close and McCartney is pushing Miles on the powers that be, etc.

Sorry to beat a dead horse but figured I'd share. Callers seem to be in favor of the move. Hawkins is already being discussed in the past tense.

****UPDATE/BUMP

A friend in Denver called and said talk radio again is all over the Les to CU thing and that Bill McCartney and Eric Bienemy (former player, current coach) are putting on a full court press to get Les and other members of the MNC era back in place.

So to those with as much insight to CU as we have to LSU (very little) the Miles things is far from dead from their perspective.

FWIW, this comments in this thread are hilarious pre-Alabama win.

Well then, by all means if they want him and he wants to go, then I say it's a match made in heaven. Maybe he'll take GC with him.

FWIW, LSU fans thought Dennis Erickson to LSU was a done deal in 1999.

LSU might have 8 national titles if erickson would have come...they would have stripped them all though

He's have to be absolutely insane to walk away from this job. I know he gets his fair share of criticism but that comes with big time jobs. There is no way he will be making anywhere near the money he's making here. If he does leave for this job, it proves that he is not just a "bad coach" as some seem to think but a bad businessman as well.

Unfortunately, for you, that's not one of his concerns.

So let me guess:

Miles loves taking a paycut?

Miles loves shitty facilities?

Miles loves the idea that the admins can only allow recruits to visit CU for one day?

Miles loves the sound ordinance at CU? That keeps CU from playing fight songs very loud from speakers so they can prepare for road games.

He's coming back.. without a doubt. We'd hate to have a new coach for everyone to cry about.

This is silly. Can CU pay him anywhere close to LSU?

too bad their facilities suck, they will probably can not come anywhere close to the salary he is making and the school limits recruits to 24 hours on campus while the NCAA limit is 48.

No. Hawk gets $1.2 M now and I think they may still be paying Barnett. If he left LSU it would not be for the money.

I really don't know, just interesting to hear this from the other side.
