Miles has squandered many chances to give Jennings playing time--some of the earlier games had been put away much earlier than when Jennings finally saw action.

Let's hope he finally realizes the need to play Jennings, against probably the weakest team on the schedule this season. He does not have to wait until the Tigers have a five touchdown lead to let Jennings play an entire series.

saw him limping in the Florida game

Yeah he got nicked. It is football. It happens.

He's hurt and it dosen't take a rocket scientist to see that

He isn't injured badly enough to sit.

You know that big arse knee brace he's wearing?

Since you seem so astute, I would assume that you know that this knee brace was not a new thing after the Florida game.

loose

It's lose.

Just rest the knee this week

He doesn't need to be rested.

He sure as hell wasn't 100% against ole miss..

Yeah and he also threw 3 interceptions and was clearly off the mark. So we should definitely have that be his last performance before the most difficult defense we will face all season.

so i guess none of you negative jerks saw him limping in the Florida game? All i said was let him rest for the Furman game.. He's hurt and it dosen't take a rocket scientist to see that... You know that big arse knee brace he's wearing? That's normally reserved for the big guys on the o line. I never said he should loose his job.. Just rest the knee this week. If we cant beat Furman without Mett then we have big issues. One week of rest and then a bye might be good for the knee.. He sure as hell wasn't 100% against ole miss..

I mostly agree with you (but not sit him altogether unless his injury is really bad).

Word to the wise though - thin skin is not a very good trait to bring to the Rant. Learn to enjoy the give and take.

Les should do a lot of things he doesn't. Like not sticking to the same game plan when things go wrong, not benching his best running back because he fumbled (and recovered it himself), not melting the clock when he is behind. He should play AJ even if ZM is healthy but don't expect predictable things from Les unless we are talking about his offense.

While I disagree with you, I don't think it deserves the same reaction as the "bench Mett for the year" threads.

However, I think we should air it out and do everything possible to make the score to where we can sit him in the second half.

Let Mett play the 1st half and exorcise the demons of Ole Miss from his mind. Then put in Jennings and let him finish the game.

Why would this be our game plan? Why would we do anything differently in this game than we do in any other game? We "aired it out" last game and Mett came away throwing three picks in the first half.

And let who play QB? Jennings who has taken one meaningful snap this year on a QB sneak? I am sorry no

Do we even need a QB this weekend? Just give the ball to Hill/Hilliard/Magee/Blue. Might not even need to throw a pass.

It's a shin problem from what I've read, and I agree with jw.

Mett is a pocket passer traditionally, but he needs to move around and outside the pocket some. His health is preventing him from moving period.

That's not an excuse for his bad passes, but it's obvious he's slow and in pain.

A weeks off for him to rest up and focus on Bama would be good for Mett and LSU.

Don't y'all worry he will get some much needed rest and Jennings will see action. Although it will be at the end of the 4th with a minute thirty to play

Something is definitely wrong with Metts knee. I think that had something to do with the int's he threw. Go back and watch the tape, he wasn't stepping into his throws the way he should.. Les wont say anything but i think he's injured.

Maybe next time you should footnote where you get your thoughts from

Mike Detillier "And to be honest, LSU won’t say it and I would not either, but it is obvious that Zach Mettenberger has a lower leg issue. I don’t know if it’s a shin or knee injury, but I can tell with his follow-through and delivery he is off balance and he is not putting a lot of weight on that leg."

Even if he does have a lower leg injury that doesn't excuse the bone head decisions "notice that was plural" to throw in to coverage 4 times "we, I guess you could say are fortunate that only 3 were picked off." Those were stupid decisions and to make those throws especially if he knows he is injured and maybe isn't has sharp as he would like to be. I can see one bad mistake, but 4 that cost us the game.

Look if Mett is hurt it is not major so Miles is not going to admit anything. The right thing to do is play Mett the first qtr of the game and send the right message to the team. Then have Jennings come in for the 2nd qtr and see how that goes. If the team plays well then Mett comes out for the first series in the 2nd half and then Jennings from there on out.

It masks any thoughts that Mett is hurt and will give AJ the playing time that he truly needs if he is going to lead us next year. Will Miles do that? Who knows he is one hard-headed SOB that is for sure.

Just protect the GD QB then no one has to worry about an injury.

The O-line is pretty good at run blocking, but needs to work on pass blocking, especially stunting DEs.
