Lol they are still blaming the Troy loss on injuries.

Does it looks like anybody needs an excuse? I believe it was Lunatic who wanted to blame depth deficiencies partly on the 2016 class. Eaux was not the HC or RC so he could not recruit every lineman he probably wanted.

Not remotely the case.

As I said. You trolls can act positive all of the sudden all you want, but your hidden agenda can't help but shine through

There's a reason I put a big IF in my post. I don't follow recruiting like you do. I actually tbought it was you that said the head coach was ultimately responsible for who gets recruited. If that's inaccurate, I apologize

No need to apologize. I think I may have misinterpreted your post. I thought you were saying Les identified (discovered?) Arden Key and that is why he wound up at LSU.

was simply saying that since Miles was the head coach until 4 games into the season, he probably had input on the '17 class

Arden was 2015. When Eaux was first hired as DL coach.

You say this, but didn't something fairly significant happen in May that has everyone excited about what the offense can be? Intelligent people have the ability to change their minds when new information is presented.

That works both ways. You have an agenda too. Make O look good, but set up built in excuses for him not to perform (spouting about being underdog in 4 games).

I’m positive in that I’m anticipating 10 wins because O has done good things, but I don’t place him above the program so much that I insist people lower their expectations from what they were under Les.

Ok. Our “second and third best guys” shouldn’t get man handled by Troy. Especially when our HC is a purported DL coaching wizz and has another purported DL coaching wizz on staff.

LSU had 6 healthy Defensive lineman against Troy.

Downplaying it just shows ignorance about what it actually takes to play a football game.

They held the ball 35 min vs 25 min

we had 4 turovers

we were 0-9 on 3rd down

and you're going to sit here and pretend that it should be a given that we can get by on Troy with only 6 fricking lineman healthy. lol

I may have said that, as a matter of fact, as a blanket statement to all of those in that class. But, I do remember now that you mention it that Key wasn't added until after O came aboard and deserves most, if not all of the credit for Key.

Coach O has been on the LSU staff since 2015

Two weeks before signing day which was February 4th in 2015. And still landed Arden Key.

He has been in term coach/head coach since September 2016. To think that he does not carry any responsibility for the DL depth.or ability since that time is simply ridiculous.

Eaux has been coaching for over two weeks for two classes - 2016 and 2017. So yes he does carry responsibility for the DL depth and has done an amazing job in a short period of time building it into what it is today. Thanks !!!

Word is that Clyde Edwars-Helaire will be switched to defense to man that position and Chaisson will back him up for a few reps per game.

So we're going to move one of our 3 rbs to defense?

I have said on multiple occasions I think that keeping the '17 class was impressive. But, getting Key that quickly is just down right insane.

You are a classic example. I am actually saying he should be fired if they go 7-5. How's that for pumping O? I simply point out to your standard no excuses statement, that lsu is at least an underdog in 4 games. So while you think they should easily get to 10 wins based upon talent, Vegas doesn't exactly see it that way.

I was in favor of terminating Miles.
But given who Alleva replaced him with, I wish Miles was still here, "letting the program slide".

For believing exactly the same things I do (that we get to 10 wins, and if he goes 7-5 he should go), you sure have different rhetoric.

Actually at 7-5 I’d Want Alleva gone first.

So you post the same article you always post in these threads, which at the beginning talks mostly about LBs and DBs being out for the Ole Miss game.

It then talks about the early season depth issues on DL, none of which goes to address my post about the fact that the 2017 roster had three fifth year seniors, two additional upperclassmen, all of which had significant playing time/starting experience, three sophomores with additional game experience, and another sophomore and four freshman signed by our expert DL/HC.

That is 14 DL to field a 3-4 defense, eight with significant starting experience.

How exactly is that a Les Miles recruiting strategy issue? How many DL would satisfy you?

Also, I’ll even grant you for the sake of argument that injuries could have cost us the MSU game (though you’re going to have to swallow that 30 points is inexcusable under any circumstance).

But no depth issues (due to injury and suspension, not recruiting neglect) will excuse simply having the team ready against a Sun Belt team which would have gotten LSU that elusive 10 win season that O was brought in to bring us back to.

Again, depth issues due to injuries or suspensions on the DL (none of which have anything to do with the previous coach) don’t excuse total team failures under O to secure wins against Troy or Florida (a team with even more missing against LSU than LSU was missing against MSU), both of which would have given LSU the bump we were all promised when Miles was fired and O was eventually hired.

So again, stop distracting from the failures of this coach and staff by pointing to imaginary deficiencies of the previous coach’s recruiting strategy (especially when the current HC was the DL coach and recruiting asset under that same staff).

Troy being the important word. Not Alabama or Texas A@M or Florida or ND, but a program with the 100+ best talent out of 120.

There was no good excuse for a LSU to lose to a Troy. Your trying to make up one makes you come across as agenda driven and out of touch with reality.

Ruined his legacy??

A legacy of 112 wins in 11 seasons, with three trips to Atlanta, two sec titles, and two NC appearances winning one is RUINED because of some perceived loyalty to some coaches even though he never once won less than 8 games, won 10 or more eight of those eleven seasons, and never discgraced the program publicly or had any major compliance issues with the NCAA??
