This thing is picking up! Les could be named Tennessee head Coach at the end of the week. I'm really proud for Les and his family.

I hope he gets the job and kicks arse over there. I grateful for all he did at LSU he will do well with the vols if he goes there.

He will do well there imho. With Vandy, Kentucky, and Missouri on the schedule every year, that should be two wins minimum. Throw in 4 OOC cream puffs and UT is bowl eligible. Honestly, a split between the non-permanent west opponent and USCe should add another win in most years. As for UF, UGA and the gumps, one out of three is realistic. In other words 8-4 should be an “average year” at UT and 10-2 is certainly possible. I think Les can hit those marks. Throw in his integrity, recruiting prowess, and public perception...and I feel he is a slam dunk hire for what is currently a dumpster fire.

The only reason I care is because LSU will now be free of his buyout.

The Vols could do a lot worse than hiring Les with Tee Martin as coach in waiting.

Is that how it works? We pick up the remainder of the salary that Les’ employer pays him to meet the amount of the buyout?

Lol. He’d better not get a wild hair up his arse and let his coordinators do their thing, recruit QB’s to fit his system, etc... you know, the things we fired him for, thus making us look like the jackasses.

Probably wouldn't be able to get away with that, It's been tried before by others and courts have established the value of a job and reduced buyout by said amount.

Alleva knows something you don't know; Tennessee can't and wouldn't get away with that.
