Everyone knows his winning dropped off, but even with that three year drop off it remained the best in LSU history and not needing an apologist.

Les was 15-11 in the SEC

You say that like everyone else in the SEC, beside Alabama, was leaving LSU in their dust. When in fact since 2013 the LSU record was second in the West and third in the SEC.

That's funny considering our o-line underachieved more years than not.

literally no one thats paid to evaluate oline play agrees with you. year in and year out our oline is one of the best in the sec. the notion that we haven't had great olines under miles is some football ignorant myth that keeps getting regurgitated on here.
last year we had the most olineman on all sec and a Remington award finalist.

That's considered good by Ole Miss standards.

Frank Wilson would be a more likely and even bigger threat to LSU.

Yep. I think he's a good coach and would certainly be able to recruit in Louisiana. I'd hate to see him at Ole Miss. On the other hand, if things didn't work out with Orgeron for us, it would be nice if he had proven himself as an SEC caliber coach at Ole Miss and we took him away from them.

I think LSU O-lines under Miles sometimes got a bad rap because they had to run-block when teams knew we were no threat to beat them passing so they could stack the box. However, pass blocking was a weakness for them as a unit, although individual former LSU players seem to be able to do fine with it in the NFL.

BS!

You are an idiot if you think fans cant admire a coach who was highly successful in his eleven years here, but want to beat his arse if he ever brings another teams to TS.

Oh there were plenty of LSU fans who were Les Miles fans. In fact, the vast majority were. But there were also a lot of people who were Les Miles fans first and not really LSU fans. Notably, the person I was replying to who said he hoped Les Miles would beat LSU if we played against a team he was coaching.

It's laughable that we have clowns who actually think the LSU football coach with the highest winning percentage in LSU history needs an apologist.

In the last few years he was here, he definitely had, and needed (at least in the right places of power) a lot of them.

Yes, there were some great years when he was here, but it was pretty clear the last few years that he needed to go.

Charles McClendon had some great seasons as head coach, but the program declined in his last few years, just as it did under Miles.

they get a bad rap because our fan base judges our position groups by what they do against bama. since bama man handled our 2015 and 2016 olines they must have sucked.

our pass blocking would have looked far better under miles if we had has was that had even average pocket awareness.
HI, JLee, Mett( in 2012),Jennings, and Harris all had below average pocket awareness. how many time did we see Harris drop back into an edge rusher?

We haven't had great olines under Miles for 2 years now.

Great olines don't get blown up against anyone.
Since Trai and Lael left it's been a major step back

It wasn't just against Alabama. They didn't fare well against Auburn and Wisconsin in 2016, against Arkansas and Ole Miss in 2015, Mississippi State, Auburn and Arkansas in 2014, etc. Anybody who had a few big guys to stack the line with could do it against LSU without having to worry about paying a price over the top.

And yet.... 0 points against bama. We have had good lines but not in the same league as the Gumps.
