that means: 3rd and 7, crowton calls a slant pass for 3 yards, or a bubble screen for 4 yards.
he's letting crowton call plays that are short of the first down

This is probably wishful thinking, but it sounds like he has maybe possibly hopefully realized the playcalling sucks, or is inappropriate to the down and distance.
