Super post. Only addition I see is that Miles lets the assistants coach and they seem to love working for him. Saban seems as hard on his assistants as he is on the players. Both styles of coaching works, but like everyone on this board I prefer the let's have fun method

Very good post. I think you hit the nail on the head. Miles seems to be having as much or more fun than the players out there.

The fun somewhat is somewhat , not as much as I thought it would be . You know the reason , the off the field actions of 50 + players ,
We had players in the game that should have been home with mom .

Totally agree. Les lets the team play. Just look at all the coaches we played this year. They all looked like crazed maniacs about to have anerrysms. Meanwhile The Hat's on our sideline yucking it up with the officials, the coaches in the booth, the equipment manager or really anybody else around. Maybe its because we were skull-fricking the other teams, nonetheless it very enjoyable. What a great year!!

I agree 2000%. LSU Football is fun to watch. Our guys lay it on the field for no other reason than they love playing for the fans, their team mates, their school, and the state. Way to go Tigers!! And with Les at the helm, i hope many more years to come of fun football every Saturday.

I have been one of Miles' biggest supporters on this board when most wanted him run out of town.
But this is some serious revisionist crap and I just don't see why some find it necessary.
Until this season, 2003 was my favorite as a Tiger fan. That season was as fun as anything. And the players on that team LOVED Saban. It was the most cohesive group I had seen in a long time.
Sure, Saban yelled on the sidelines and could be a jerk in press conferences, but seriously, if you weren't having fun in the Saban years because of that, you were just a pre-internet version of a nega-tiger.
Miles has been by far our most successful coach and continued to build this program far beyond what Saban left behind.
But there is no need to tear down that groundbreaking era. I promise, it won't hurt Miles' feelings.
Get over it.

Very good post, I just hope Les finds a way to keep Chavis around, every team in the country that needs a def coord, is gonna be offering him a raise to come there...including some NFL teams. LSU is gonna have to bring the money to keep this staff in the next few years..Chavis is the unsung hero to this team being back at the top. I am still surprised that he has done so well, and am amazed that Les knew he was the man that could bring the defense back after the horrible couple of seasons Tennessee had. Hail to the Madhatter!

All true, but did he have to give us all such heartburn last year with all the close finishes? That's a little too exciting for me. That said, I love Les being our coach and hope he's around for many, many years.
