Les left us a far cry from where he started in 05.

he inherited a program with 2 top 15 finishes since 1998.

if the program was so set why did the greatest cfb in history lose 3 games the year before?

Lack of a QB. JR was the future but was a Redshirt FR.

So is it your argument that Miles did not take over a loaded team in 05?

2006 Joseph Addai (RB) Indianapolis No. 30
2007 JaMarcus Russell (QB) Oakland No. 1
LaRon Landry (S) Washington No. 6
Dwayne Bowe (WR) Kansas City No. 23
Craig Davis (WR) San Diego No. 30
2008 Glenn Dorsey (DT) Kansas City No. 5
2009 Tyson Jackson

So these are all the 1st round picks that were on that 05 team.

2006
1 30 Joseph Addai, RB Indianapolis
2 55 Andrew Whitworth, OT Cincinnati
3 68 Claude Wroten, DT St. Louis Rams
4 125 Skyler Green, WR Dallas
5 134 Kyle Williams, DT Buffalo
6 197 Melvin Oliver, DE San Francisco
7 231 Bennie Brazell, WR Cincinnati
2007
1 1 JaMarcus Russell, QB Oakland
1 6 LaRon Landry, FS Washington
1 23 Dwayne Bowe, WR Kansas City
1 30 Craig Davis, WR San Diego
7 213 Chase Pittman, DE Cleveland
2008
1 5 Glenn Dorsey, DT Kansas City
3 68 Chevis Jackson, CB Atlanta
3 69 Jacob Hester, RB San Diego
3 81 Early Doucet, WR Arizona
4 120 Craig Steltz, S Chicago
7 209 Matt Flynn, QB Green Bay
7 232 Keith Zinger, TE Carolina
2009
1 3 Tyson Jackson, DE Kansas City
5 145 Quinn Johnson, FB Green Bay
5 167 Herman Johnson, OT Arizona
7 219 Curtis Taylor, S San Francisco
7 224 Demetrius Byrd, WR San Diego
7 244 Ricky Jean-Francois, DE

This is the total NFL players that were on the 05 team.

If you did not count all of the players, its 25 NFL players on a college team.

If this is not loaded, I don't know what is.

1st road win against a p5 team(20 point underdog) since 2008.

how much does it hurt your vag to know Miles' name is safely engraved on the lsu record books?

If you take Miles Dick out of your mouth long enough maybe you can explain a Big 12 team loss to Coastal Carolina.

How does that happen to the greatest coach of all time?

Les was, and still is the man. All the internet haters can wrap your arms around him, and give him a big kiss on the arse.

Hold on here. This is far from a legitimate criticism. Kansas is historically weak program, and one of the worst programs of the last 40 years. They have a grand total of 7 top 25 finishes in more than 120 years of football. They have played in 12 bowl games.

OOC losses to group of 5 programs are not uncommon there. The talent level at Kansas is closer to a lower end group of 5 than a power 5 school.

Remember Nick Saban lost to UAB at LSU and ULM at Alabama, yet no sane person would argue against the greatness of Saban.

But he also underachieved, relative to the elite talent he brought in, particularly his last 3+ years, and the offensive woes were hard to stomach.

So he did some great things here, but a lot of us feel a lot of opportunities were wasted.

That's what sticks in our craw.

This is the part he continuously ignores.....to continue knighting for his coach.

CLM is past tense for LSU. Good times/bad times... it is all history now. Why waste bandwidth arguing over hypotheticals and such? Let it go - we are in the CEO era now. Let’s enjoy the ride and quit all the pointless bickering. Grow up, people.

stating objective facts isnt knighting it's called living in reality.
your football ignorant opinion says Miles was a dumbass and shite coach.
facts say he took a bad Oklahoma State program that had 1 .500 or better season the previous 10 years and had them winning 7,8,9 games and he followed that up by having the most accomplished tenure ever at top 15 all time program. NONE OF THAT IS MY OPINION. it's a fact that you cant stand because it shits all over your football ignorant opinion.

and for the record I have repeatedly said a better x and O coach couldve won more with the talent miles had but there is no guarantee that that talent would be at lsu without a good recruiter like miles.

lsu was so destined for greatness that the greatest cfb coach of our generation had 1 season with less than 3 losses.

2005 was so loaded that the greatest cfb coach of our generation lost 3 games the year before.

was lsu a program on the rise when Miles took over? for sure
could miles do what saban did at lsu? nope

but stop with this lsu was the best program in cfb in 05.

most of the players you listed hadnt emerged to be the players youre touting

and miles took those guys a d had the best 3 year stretch of any lsu coach ever.

Dude. He's a good coach, not great. If he was badass, he would have done more with the talent he had at LSU than he did. He is one of the most underperforming head coaches of all time when u look at the talent he squandered here. I like him as a person, but glad he's at Kansas and not lsu.

Why are you including these guys as part of the program Miles “took over”?

Those were from Miles’ first recruiting class which was a disaster when Miles took over (D Byrd wasn’t even on the team until 07). He did a great job just to get like half a class filled after Saban had essentially quit recruiting.

So take 6 off of your 25 number that Miles “walked into”.

Also, how many draft picks were on the UGA team? USC, Texas, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma?

Wouldn’t that be good info to have when determining how “loaded” we were as a program in relation to other powerhouse programs at the time?

and there it is, the "he's not at LSU anymore so we shouldn't discuss him" argument.

Are we also forbidden from discussing Shaq, Cannon, Maravich, Mathieu, Peterson, Bregman, OBJ, Landry, Devin White, etc? I mean, they're not here anymore either.

Every player and coach is part of LSU history, and is fair game for discussion and critique.
