You don't have a 7-0, #2 ranked team in week 8 of college football with a top recruiting class in your 11th year having won as many games as Les has if you are not a very good coach.

Everyone saying that Les is horrible and a moron are just stupid. Your arguments beyond that are invalidated by you ignorance regarding the first order issues.

Les' problem is that he has a philosophy that does not always work when he gets punched in the face. His success leads him to believe that he is right and he cannot conceive that his plan will not work. He cannot adapt. His weakness is his pride over his own success.

And, Saban, the great psychologist, knows how to exploit it exactly. For Les, it is always that night in November, 2011, when the team made in his image, won 9-6 in the Game of the Century. That validated Les and he will always go back to that and try to recreate that outcome.

For Saban, it is always today, and football changes. He is confident in his plan, but is willing to adapt to keep in front of everyone else.

Les Miles is a very good coach. In good seasons, he will go 10-2. In bad seasons, he will go 8-4. And, that is about it. To call him stupid is just stupid. To say that his pride is his downfall nails it pretty accurately.

Les Miles loves playing second fiddle to Nick Saban, we all know that already.

100%

However...I am tired of believing his way can finally work every year, and paying good money for tickets abd travel, to never actually have a shot at the prize. He needs to adapt....I am truly sick of his outdated dinosaur offense and his embarrassing, predictable losses to Satan.

8-5.

8-4 in the regular season.

He has had one 7-5 season and then won the bowl game to finish 8-5.

Are you an LSU fan?

It will not work. It never will again. Not for championships. But, it will get us 8-10 wins every year.

Lost 1 game to a better team and the haters swarm lol! I'm tired of losing to Bama like the rest of them, but the fact is Saban is just better.. He is one of very few coaches that can completely shut us down. If it wasn't the best team in the country that beats us every year then I would be saying the same thing. Bama is on another level defensively!

The inability to make in game adjustments is his biggest fault, the college game changes but he doesn't it is what it is and that's how it will be until he is done at LSU, which will be on his terms

The problem I have is that teams like Ole Miss, and Tennessee move the ball all over the field against Bama and can't do anything. Their QB's ran and threw successfully.
We could do none of that.
The pisses me off.

next year is make or break it for miles. He needs to beat Bama and make it to the playoff.

LSU has basically two #1 recruiting classes on the field. (2014 class and 2016 class)
Bama is about to lose 15+ starters on both sides of the ball.
We get Bama at home.
Harris will be a Junior with plenty of experience under his belt.
Lots of returning starters on Defense and Offense.

If Miles doesn't make the playoff next year his seat needs to be hot.

I agree with that too! Harris had a terrible game. He couldn't make the throws he has been making all year. There are many drives that were stalled because of bad throws. Even the deep ball to Dupre was under thrown that should have been 6. We tried to go out the spread and change things up, but Harris was shut down. I don't feel like there's much you can do when you have D lineman in your face every play. Harris just couldn't handle the big stage this time. Nothing towards him. It was his 2nd away SEC game of the year. He will continue to grow with experience.

Thanks Les, maybe at the end of this season, like the end of many others, you will be forced to make a change in order to save your job. Maybe this time you will get it right and learn to make adjustments, and learn to attack your opponents weaknesses instead of just imposing your will on everyone.

If your pride is your downfall on a consistent basis, then you are stupid for not recognizing it. Apart from all the armchair psychology, the one thing that EVERYONE can objectively judge Miles on is his ability to call a proper time out, since mostly it is a function of math and rules of the game and not subject differing philosophies. It is plain to see that Miles is stupid when it comes to calling a time out, so I do not think that it is a stretch to extrapolate and call him stupid when it comes to the rest of football.
