He's had years upon years to get over the dreaded pick 6 that has haunted him. Year after year...no offense. He became comfortable in predictable plays that would never jeopardize control of them ball. He preferred to lose close than to chance anything. He settled. And the BCS game sealed his complacent fate. We have limped on in mediocrity ever since. We are better than that. It will only take the right coach to exploit it. Enough about Miles, man. He SHOULD have been allowed to stay the season.....but it's done. All hail The Hermanator.

But his resume speaks for itself. Some school desperate enough will get him (looking at you, Notre Dame)

Surely you can't be serious. Notre Dame?

Yes. A clusterfrick of confusion and desperation is a perfect way to define him

I think people will be surprised in which programs are interested. Les Miles has shown he can run any program in the country. His faults were coaching games, but make no mistake he is still going to be regarded as one of the best program runners in the country, and that is a skill that has a ton of value.

nope, that decision had been made, that was just the opportunity to pull the trigger

Correct. Actually, it should have been done at the end of last season. The decision to defer the firing to last week was purely out of respect for miles. It was postponing the inevitable.

If Miles presumes that all of his previous miscues had nothing to do with it, then he deserves what he got. The football program was firmly entrenched in mediocrity, and it came down to accepting mediocrity or not accepting mediocrity. No person is bigger than the game.

what is wrong with you Miles butt sniffers? The guy just got fired 4 games into a season for being bad at his job. Even before his firing, football people could watch LSU and say, "That is not a well coached football team." Les will not land a big job, no chance. None!

I would be shocked if any program that has, at one time or another, been prominent will be interested. It's not just about running a program, it's also about style. Perhaps an Indiana (like Dinardo) or a Duke (like Cutcliffe) type of program will be interested but there is no way a Notre Dame, Texas, USC type of program would consider him seriously.
Seriously, no one wants a rotary phone in the era of smartphones. I am willing to bet he is not as successful at recruiting when he leaves Louisiana.

He just said he "I want to be calling plays again"

Now we know who was calling the plays. He said that in the Rinaldi interview

Are you mentally deficient? Why would I take the bet when I've already acknowledged that Miles might end up at a trash P5 program like Purdue?

because thats why its called "gambling?" how about if he goes to a "trash" program you only have to pay me 50

quote:

Now if you want to bet that Miles is hired by an ELITE program, I'll take that.

as i said in another thread, theres only like 10-15 elite programs. of those 10-15 elite programs the only ones that may have job openings are ND and PSU (and LSU)

so if you want me to bet you that Les gets 1 of only like 2 jobs, then yah, I can see why you would want to make that bet. but no, im good.

Les will get another job, at a P5 school, and it will not be some "trash" program.

I really hate that you are making me have to defend Miles, but I cannot ignore your stupidity.
