He's the best coach in LSU history who has made the worst decisions in crunch time of any LSU coach in history.

A true enigma.

was talking about big picture of LSU, not a one game brain fart.

that's the problem...
everyone else is talking about the GAME while you are trying to point the conversation in another direction.

We haven't had a viable QB on the team for the last 4 years. Unless you count Perriloux.

That's on Les.

Sorry.... didn't think I'd have to explain that one.

Most people can't see past their nose. You have to explain like you would to a 5yo.

I am even more impressed with Les Miles than ever before.

How the fack can you be more impressed with him today, then let's say a week ago. Even if your impressed-ness didnt drop much... anyone with a pulse has to be disappointed with his coaching performance last week.

He started the thread. The context of the OP reads as being an overall perspective.

agreed!

without a quarterback

who is to blame for not having a qb? Miles is the HC that recruited all of them. This isn't his 4th year here and he can't blame the previous coach. Miles gets credit for recruiting the abundance of talent on our defense, but he has to take the blame for having no qb.

Just to be clear... as I have said many times. I still support Miles and I want him to be here for a long time. But he is NOT above criticism; no one is.

I don't know what you mean by "best." If you are talking about the most talented coach in program history, empirical evidence suggests you are wrong. Nick Saban has a better pedigree (three NC's, three SECCGs, etc.).

Since Miles is responsible for recruiting, if LSU hasn't had a quarterback for four years, it's entirely Miles' fault. You can't use Miles' recruiting and/or development failures to bolster his reputation. Makes little sense.

I tip my LSU cap to you, dude. You have summarized the truth. You are absolutely correct.

I have only two probs with CLM right now:

-- He could not get a better QB to play for us for all of these years. Somehow, he could not convince a better QB to come here for four long years

-- This point is a bit weaker than the first, but, we looked so bad on Monday night that it seems like CLM took the month off on vacation. The fact may be that he worked his arse off in a totally futile effort, which would be OK, I guess, but it looked like we spent the pre game month on vacation

Well we had Perriloux and he screwed up. That's not Les' fault. Then we get Zach Lee enrolled and he takes the money to play baseball. Its hard to blame that on Les.
