The game was 12-0 when the infamous pitch pick happened halfway through the 3rd.

The bottom line is, the perspective on 1/9 is all wrong.

Instead of eternally focusing on how we lost that game, the real story should be how the hell did we win on 11/5??

That Alabama team and defense was outstanding, and the job our defense did on the road to completely shut them down was historic and should have gone down as one of the biggest wins in program history.

Because of the sham of The Rematch, it’s a minor footnote, and that really is a shame.

If you're not a former player or coach, then you really don't know if anything happened or not. You are merely speculating just like anyone else.

Nothing happened, no matter how much you ask and say something did, nothing hapoened.

It would have been leaked long before now, in this day of technology and breaking news nothing stays hidden this long, period.

I guess it really doesn't matter. I'm just curious about it. The only thing I've ever heard was second-hand from a guy who went to high school with one of the players on that team. Supposedly, this former player told him that "yes, something did occur but it's not what everybody thinks." Rather cryptic, for what it's worth.

The issue is that the offense was total arse after the first Alabama game. Look at the start of the Arkansas game or the first half vs UGA where we got no first downs.

Les was hoping TM7 or the defense would get a momentum shifting play like they did in those games. It didn’t happen. There was no coherent offense after the first Bama game.

Regardless.. JJ looked awful against Georgia the game prior.. He was 5 of 13 for 30 YARDS!!!!

and it was clear that LSU was not moving the ball whatsoever with him in championship game.

No reason not to make a change at some point. Lee still had a very good Senior season and should have been put in at some point.

Also, was Mett not an option because he only had 3 to play 2 and they didn't want to burn one of his 2?
