I know like the time I had to sit on my couch prying for Pitt to beat West Virginia so we could go to the BCS. Losing to Kentucky and Arkansas that yeare was extremely hard to do. I knew if anyone could screw that season up it would be him. Les never disappointed me his enablity to manage the game or clock was awe-inspiring. Do you remember the time he kept getting spread Qb's to run a pro style offense, it almost as he didn't care if he had the right person leading his offense.
One more time down memory lane. How about the time he bent LSU over a barrel to get a new contract by using his agent and Jeff long (Arky's ad) to get an extension that we will be paying for the next 2 seasons.

Thanks for the memories Les. It's been a hell of a ride with you for these last 12 years either in pure joy and serenity or the most unfortunate of times. I will never forget these years no matter what for the rest of my life. I will always love that you were a great representative for LSU and Louisiana as a whole.

I wish you and your family a happy, joyful and serene retirement.

Agree. Wish he would have stepped out last year on his own terms but it is definitely time now.

Thanks for the great memories, gutsy 4th down calls and for being a fantastic ambassador for LSU.

This really makes me sad. I want to hear what he said to that team. No doubt every person on this board with a decent heart would drop a tear. This man was a great coach. He didn't deserve to get let go like this mid season. I wanted miles to retire a tiger.

Coach Miles, your years at LSU are among my best-ever Tiger memories. And I have a lot - my earliest memory goes back to that Halloween night run, thru the Cholly Mac years of near greatness and let down, up thru the years when the magic got lost, then when Dinardo brought the magic back, then Saban and 2003, and your incredible tenure as our Tiger HC and good will ambassador. Some of my best LSU memories have your fingerprints all over them. Also more than a few of the less than best ones, especially recent seasons. But thru it all, I always believed you are a Tiger at heart. And although you will no longer be the Tigers HC, you will never be forgotten for who you are as a man, and for what you brought to LSU over these years. Thank you, coach! God bless! And let the good times roll!

My son is essentially the same way. He was only 5 when Saban left and hates him. My son knows more about football than most of the so called "fans" on this board and if you don't believe me, just try him out. Les is one of his heroes. He told me last night that it was time for Les to move on, but it was so hard for him to say. i think all true Les fans feel that way. The others are fair weather fans who always think the grass is greener.

Just certain qualities... about Coach Miles that I will miss over any other replacement. He had a want for a need explain things in such a way that only made sense because it didn't. Regardless of anything, he has am amazing and awesome character about him, his love for his team and family. CM you're always welcome to stop by pretty much anywhere you choose around here and get some food.
