Brandon Taylor should have made first or second team.
Oh, and on a team with no QB, RR was the top receiver on the top team, and in the top 3 in receiving in the SEC. No reason to leave him off the first team.

All but Blackwell underclassmen. If most of them come back, we'll be even better next year. I know, I know...

It wasn't because of that call.

Butbutbut we need to fire Miles! And how can he be COY when he's in a conference with Sabum?

How Bennie Logan, arguably the best run stopper in the SEC, didn't even make 2nd team is beyond me.

Barkevious Mingo, LSU, Second Team Really?
Can't no one out play this guy.. Mingo has been on fire all year long! He belongs with the First Team.

Look, these Media people don’t watch all these players, and they simply don't have the RAM or CPU to call every position accurately. They must follow the herd or end up in another profession. So cut them some slack. I admit Mathieu is an egregious error, but they are human, which is why computers must be involved in the decision.
But the AP does not like computers because it takes away the power of their liberal bias. To the AP, LSU is two-dimensional: racist and ignorant. Perversely, LSU is discriminatory because of its supposedly racist past and the outcome is almost always the same: LSU wins with mostly minority starters. That’s the double-whammy against a defendant in liberal ideology. Liberal ideology dictates that all are equal and are whatever they say they are, especially when many can’t cut it.
Recall 2003: the AP had OK as #1, even though it had lost its conference championship; LSU was #2; and USC was #3. But behold, LSU smothered OK. Then flash, the next day, USC was the best after all. The computers were more influential then, and the AP knew its days were numbered unless it stopped (a liberal concept) having to take responsibility for itself. So it picked up its ball and went home and has been ignored ever since except by us fans who love flattery any time it comes our way, which is how the AP is still hanging on.
As far as credibility, the AP is a hack outfit. The AP has always been about selling newspapers and commercials. It knows it is squarely on the second team now, but that is not a bad place to be when you are paid a lot to be a moron. The BCS might yet pull a big bonehead move, as it threatens to do every year with those that refuse to join a decent conference: for example, Boise (a great place) State, TCU, BYU, and the Big East teams.
There is no secret to the SEC’s dominance. We have Southern-U.S.-patriotism (that saw us way too long through a stupid Civil War), and our conference is designed to play against the best week in and week out. Oh, well, some might say, we have the best talent; but Ohio and California are two of the top five recruiting states in the country. And Notre Dame (I am Catholic) has a national recruiting base, although I cannot imagine why any college man would want to get stuck up in Indiana with nothing to do in the off season. LSU has New Orleans.
