History will prove he’s a very average coach who lucked out with the LSU job. This opinion happens to be shared by a large percentage of national media.

Les Miles is Larry Coker. Terrible coach who lucked out into a program built by legends.

Actually Saban didn’t have that great of a body of work when he got the job here. He’d just lost the I-Bowl too!

I appreciate what Miles accomplished while he was at LSU. It was time for him to go, but I don't see the need for people to bash the guy like they do.

I for one will be rooting for Miles and his Kansas team.

Saban had just lost the independence bowl against LSU before taking the job?

The only way that this can possibly be correct is that Nick Saban accepted the LSU job in December of 1999, then used a DeLorean equipped with a flux capacitor to go back to 1995 and lose the independence bowl to LSU, immediately come back to 1999 and assume his duties in Baton Rouge having “just lost” the independence bowl.

what? he had...
1. won the mac at Toledo the year after toledo struggled to finish .500
2. turned the Cleveland Browns into the #1 defense in the NFL.
3. top 10 finish at a Michigan State program coming off sanctions.

Les may very well have “lucked into” a great situation at LSU, but there was nothing “lucky” about building Oklahoma State from near-ruins into a competitive program. Take a peak at OSU post JJ and before Les ... it wasn’t pretty at all.

And a lot of people get into great situations and fail....Les did not at LSU. Even if one concedes that he came into a great situation, which he indeed did, he kept the great situation great - and then good - for an extended period of time, and that’s nothing to scoff at.

Miles owns LSU football's highest win%, 4/5 top scoring offenses, most NC appearances, tied for most SEC titles and NCs is what history proves presently.
Wether the new coach can displace just one of those GOAT achievements is TBD, but 2019 looks to be his best chance that most of us would enjoy witnessing.
