. Dantonio would not be bad at all. And yes we are and will be desperate. I fully support firing miles but at the same time I'm not one bit confident in the powers that be finding a decent replacement

Dantonio would be an awful hire. The guy is too old and would bring the same frustrating 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense. LSU needs someone younger and with some fire.

Please God no Petrino. I would legit have a tough fame cheering for him to win. He is a scumbag. Everyone in the Falcons organization that talks about him says the same

I don't like kiffin, but ifs nothing like petrino. I just don't know if he would win

Art briles: you guys want to send your daughters to LSU with him as the coach?

Winning is important, but not at the expense of damaging the schools reputation and our values
Herman
Fisher
Why isn't Patterson at TCU a name coming up?
Peterson would be great, but sounds like that would never happen

Honestly, my top two are Herman and Brohm. Herman is the guy I really want, but then I'd go for the guy dominating his conference.

i wouldn't be surprised in any way if it ends up being a Rich Rod. At some point a guy like Chad Morris will probably even get a look.

David Shaw, fedora, and Petrino are pretty realistic. Not my favorites, but not bad either.

Any reason why Patterson won't leave? He just like it there and doesn't care about moving up?

I don't know who he would tab as his oc. The oc would basically be in name only.

i can see why some don't want petrino. can't blame anyone for not wanting him. i think that's all behind him because he knows he can't screw up anymore.

louisville should beat houston this year which puts houston out of any playoff consideration. then we'll just have to wait for the b12 announcements opn expansion, though i highly doubt they expand at all, much less take houston.

frick the falcons
also LK hasn't done anything near briles or franklin level. Im all about winning but not if it makes us a rape factory. I can look the other way while a coach is fricking a side piece though

Patterson isn't coming up because he isn't coming.

I would be good with Brohm. He is young and up and coming. I can get behind a coach like that.

Id rather Morris than Rich Rod. Rich Rod would be a failure here. his defense is garbage

Mike MacIntyre is intriguing from the 2nd tier candidates. He coached under Parcells in Dallas, and he supposedly really liked him. Parcells took him under his wing and they had a tutor/mentor relationship. Eric Mangini left the Patriots to become the HC of the Jets the same year Parcells retired again. Parcells recommended MacIntyre to Mangini. Parcells was always really good at identifying & developing good coaches. They all haven't been good head coaches, but his coaching tree is great. That Dallas staff also had Sean Payton & Mike Zimmer, both credit their time in Dallas under Parcells as big infuences.

Some of these second tier candidates may not be well known, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth considering.

He's been at TCU since 1998, he's 56, and they're in a P5 conference.

Another reason Herman will want out of Houston.....not having to deal with this sort of thing every year...

quote:

Jerry Palm has Houston playing Florida State in the Cotton Bowl, replacing them with Stanford.

Says Palm, "Houston also suffers as the expectations plummet for the Sooners. Now an undefeated season may not be enough to make the playoff, even though Louisville still looks like a pretty formidable opponent. Those teams play in nine weeks on Nov. 17."
