players are legally very similar. The difference is that Ole Miss has no fear that either the SEC or NCAA will try to punish them retroactively. That is what has stayed LSU's hand in adding the pro players, so-called. Nothing in the SEC or NCAA bylaws addresses this situation. It comes down to eligibility the rules of which the NCAA changed in the middle of the game. This change affected Wright and Harris To wit, the NCAA specifically excluded players who graduated HS in 2022 from the 5 in 5 rule. Just a laughable joke that will lead to the federal government creating an agency to rule over all of "college" athletics.

Fun fact…no player that has ever been ruled ineligible by the NCAA has ever won the Heisman

Anyone being objective understands that the NCAA is anything but even handed. Look at the recent UM mulligan.

Wright was paid $25k to play in the NFL.
Harris got $190 gas money
Big difference imo.
Hutson got no NFL money.

Harris has a chance to return, but Wright has very little from what I can tell.

Technicalities are awesome. Wright probably made more money when he actually played on a football field at Ole Miss.

Actually, saying so doesn't make it so. It came out in testimony that there is no specific exclusion for the class of 2022cand the judge replied on that testimony in granting the TRO.

I did not say so, the NCAA did. This exception is being litigated. Because a judge says something does not make it true.

players are legally very similar.
I don't even understand how they're different in any way.

Both the SEC and NCAA have ruled Chambliss ineligible.

There is no such things as level of ineligible or partially ineligible.

Ineligible is ineligible.

Ole MIss is playing a player the NCAA & SEC has deemed ineligible but is only playing due to a court order. Someone will have to explain how it is different because, it is not different.

And yea, that's not even getting into the obvious fact that we haven't even rostered or played these dudes yet.

Neither are on the LSU roster.

Ole Miss just played a game with a player that both the SEC & NCAA deemed ineligible...when are we voting to kick Ole Miss out of the SE?

Now the SEC wants to expel LSU...just because...They must have the votes or they would not call the meeting.

What a group of losers. I see Texas, OU, AM, Gumps, Ole Piss, Mizzou, Auburn as likely locks to expel. Such entertainment. Will LSU be barred from playing the SEC games. I imagine that will be the result ending the season and collapsing the program. For what exactly?

I know what I wrote. I was stating the facts about the 5 in 5 rule that the NCAA created. Are you just stupid? Evidently you did not read the link I provided. Does it hurt to think?

It came out in the BTR trial last week that the NCAA rule as written did not exclude the 2022 class. Sankey admitted that on the stand. Also they negated the term pro players because they could not make a distinction between college and professional league players. So it comes down to players who signed NFL contracts are ineligible.

That may be, but so far as I know there is no language in either the SEC or NCAA bylaws that exclude players who signed NFL contracts. If someone knows differently, please share. Meantime, Chambliss who was repeatedly ruled ineligible played this past weekend. I guess that matters not to the SEC. It could not be more absurd.
