I do feel confident JL can handle himself now... Guy has balls to go into the last 2 games throwing from his endzone outside... I feel he is mentaly tough....

That being said I think JJ is getting better and will do well. I worry about his holding onto the ball too much but he is capable, especially ho the D is playing...

I think they should have Lee ready in case JJ needs a break..

Lets hit bama with different looks, they have had a week off to study our tendencies...

just a thought.

The TD pass to Lafell yesterday was way short. Lafell is by himself and had to come running back and caught the ball off his shoestrings

Jefferson has the size, but arm strength is substandard

I don't think our tendencies confuse the D co-ordinators of our opponents. We tend to run the same plays depending on which set of musical chairs Crowton sends in to battle.

Colt McCoy
Vince Young
Matt Stafford
and a whole bunch of other freshman QB's had lousy first years and went on to be great college quarterbacks. too bad Miles and Crowton gave up on Lee and have him on the shelf. Jefferson has not played well enough this year to warrant all of the playing time by any realistic measure. If you want to open the run game with a less than steller offensive line then you have to have a passer that the defense has to respect. Jefferson doesn't get that respect from defenses.

i'm completely fine with that throw - better safe than sorry when someone is that wide open.

no need to try and lead him there - just get him the ball

as evidenced by teams doing the exact same thing last year

Why do people keep repeating this?

Colt McCoy 2006
2570 yards
68.2%
29 tds
7 ints
161.82 passer rating

In the event Bama's blitz gives JJ a fit they might can give him a break to collect his thoughts and i feel JL is capable to take over if need be for a few series

exactly... oh and you people are idiots. you say jj only looks goood against week opponents, well J lee looked good once against the worse team we have played this season. J Lee should not start and only should come in the game if jj is struggling. I believe once the game has started and players have settled down is when Lee shines.

OK we must stop the madness. When has JL ever shined? I don't ever remember thinking, wow JL is really shining right now. which game are you talking about? i'm really genuinely curious.

Last season. Coming in for hatch or coming in after he was benched. his play was much better coming off the bench. I wasnt trying to bash lee like most of yall do just bash the frickers who think he should start cus he made some nice passes against the worse team we will play this season.

i guess shined was the wrong word, maybe i should have said looked better than the other qbs on LSUs roster.

Fair enough. He was certainly better than Hatch.

Sammobile-

Those are highlights which by definition are when everything works right. But, he tends to wind up kind of like a centerfielder. The release is not traditional and is definitely not NFL type.

If you want a comparison to a mobile qb, Troy Smith was all world in college, even winning the heisman. But he was not a very accurate passer and when playing at a level where mobility does not compensate for qb technique, you watch Joe Flacco start. Troy Smith definitely had a higher profile college career than Joe Flacco.

But look, I want jefferson to be as successful as he possibly can. I only wish him the best. However, JLee should be starting somewhere. If its not at LSU then so be it.

And I'll be cheering for whomever is taking the snaps at LSU.

So when are you going to start cheering for your starting QB JJ?

i know that's why i said not his problem, because he has the arm strength to throw where he needs to
