In the event Bama's blitz gives JJ a fit they might can give him a break to collect his thoughts and i feel JL is capable to take over if need be for a few series

Unfortunately, no matter how much JJ would get flustered against Bama we all know that Miles will not sit him down for a few series and put JL in. Hell Miles was still playing JJ in the 4th quarter against Tulane so theres no way in hell Lee plays against Bama unless JJ gets hurt. Ive always felt JL is a better qb than JJ but JL has never been given a chance to redeem himself for whatever reason.

Thats the thing I always loved about Spurrier. He was never afraid to tell his qb to have a seat if they were having a shitty game. Miles on the other hand is the total opposite.

Dude if Spurrier ever had a quarterback who performed as poorly as Lee did last year he'd literally get moved to punter, go look up Ingle Martin.

As if JL is going up against first string personnel. Should he have a tough time moving the ball against 2nd and 3rd stringers from Tulane?

He struggled last year against tulane's first string. I think he threw a pick six as well.

The great spurrier, see his last two coaching stints and South Carolina to see how he is developing qb talent.

No doubt that Lee throws a pretty pass. But what will he do with Cody growling in his face? Man can't scramble.

If we beat Bama...it will be done on the outside. Run or pass. Make Cody run his arse off. I dont think T-Bob can stop Cody. Hell...the Tennessee center couldn't...just one play...knowing the freaking game was on the line.

Love that option to Shep. Assuming Shep can throw a simple pass at least...chould be lethal.

sorry let me rephrase. Anyone think we could run the ball better with JL....

I believe we would run the ball much more effectively with Lee. The question then would be....Do we turn the ball over more while we are running it better. Turnovers kill and Miles would rather have a more conservative offense that takes care of the ball.

Yeah, Lee is Aikman-like, if you count his INT's returned for TD's as a touchdown for Lee it is.

Really? Why didn't he sit Doug Johnson down After his 4th INT? No other UF QB played in the 1997 loss to LSU.

..another idiot fan "Remembering" shite that never happened.

A very likely scenario, as Saban will try to punish and confuse JJ.

Just like he did last year right? And why does everyone swear that out running game will be much better with JL instead of JJ?

Look at the film from last year, remember the 8 and 9 man fronts because JL's inability to throw the ball deep as many of you are saying.

CS started out on fire last year and numbers declined because JL could not move the ball around and all of a sudden everyone knows he can do it this year. He's had all spring, summer, and fall to prove himself and take the job and he hasn't done it.

Then people say they can't give JL a compliment without someone defending JJ. That's because it usually comes down to that the more people say, the more pro-JL it gets and the more anti-JJ it gets just admit it.

Find another backup to talk about please because none of you just mention JL to just mention him, it's just a cover up to bash you own starting qb. You know it's going to cause problems and even more contraversy yet you still do it. I don't get it, talk about our backup guards, centers, and tackles because then you'll have a more legit argument.

best QB on the roster

This is correct. Further the way Lee was treated last year and they way the staff gladly allowed him to take the blame for a pathetic defense (because of coaching) is truly sad.

I hope that JL transfers somewhere where he can show off that NFL arm.

JL will get drafted as a QB in the NFL. Neither Jefferson nor Shepard will.

That said, Shepard is impressive. He should be on the field every play!

as far as throwing a nice ball, there is no comparison: GARRETT THROWS THE PRETTIEST BALL. at least it looked like it yesterday at pregame.

And you are 100% sure right?

See, some of you people make others defend JJ because of stupid arse comments like this.

Hell, I'd like to see JL end up in the league as well, but he's not the qb at LSU right now and JJ is so why put him down so much.

You LOVE JL because of his arm and you like Shep for his speed and running ability. JJ is a combination of both, so he's our best option at qb right now.

You want everyone to feel sorry for how JL was treated last year when he deserved it because he sucked as LSU's starting qb more often than not, but now you want to do JJ the same thing right?

Just let it go. If we need him, we'll use him then. Until then, let's talk about another win for JJ.

JL has great form; he can quickly scan and assess the field and fire off passes with beautiful precision. Watching him gives you confidence that he can manage the game, win the game, impressively even. And yes, he can run the option better than JJ, at the moment.

In my opinion, however, all the above changes drastically when he is pressured, whether it be by virtue of the fact a real opponent [any SEC team] is on the field or a particular series of downs is at play.

If he wants to ever be more than a backup, he needs to slay this "mental" dragon.

JJ is the man, meanwhile, and is only getting better.

Ask him to link and prove it. When facts are presented about JL performances, they claim quoting of facts is hating JL. And using facts to support our starting QB is somehow hating JL.

I challenge anyone to find one time that I have said anything negative about JL. However, as a fan of the team, it is hard for me to see the obvious bias against our starting QB by some. A young QB who has done about everythin one could have expected to this point.

Name another starting QB in a BSC conference with 10 or less starts under his belt and as young, with better numbers or a better record. You can start with JL last year. Yet there are those who consistently clamor for his backup who had less than an auspicious season last year. You would think true LSU fans would fully back the young starter who is 8-2 as a starter, 14-TD/5-Int ratio, 135+ eff rating versus his backup who as a starter is 4-4, 10-TD/11-Int, 118 Pass Eff. Because he throws a pretty ball? That wasn't good enough for JR, right?
