Lee is having a fine season, but all of our QB's have played pretty good and that speaks to Krag/coaching staff/QBs/team.

ZM played second half against the alternate version of our scout team.
JJ has played a hnadful of snaps in the last 3-4 games. He has thrown as many passes altogether as JL avgs per game.
The point is its ok to give JL a pat on the back without mentioning the other two.
He has taken 90% of the sanps this season.
Neither JJ or ZM IMO have played enough to say that coaches have really helped them or they are the difference in those guys play.

The plays are getting in much more timely and I doubt we see LSU only being able to get off one sane play in the final 32 secs again

Bama game will be decided by our OL. Can we continue to pass block as we have and open some holes for our backs.

meh, if we dont tackle or dont turnthe ball over, or dont make some stupid mental errors.

WHoever plays the most complete game on all 3 phases will win this game.
I just dont think one area is the key.

There is no old adage that says the passing game opens the running game. That concept came into play with spread offense which we don't really run.

This adage has been around since Bart Starr and Joe Namath. So it is indeed old. The game against Auburn should be proof enough that is is also true. LSU was only up by 4 points until Randle caught his 2 long TDs.

Before the 1st Randle TD, LSU had 54 yards on 18 carries (3.0 ypc). From that point on LSU had 128 yards on 16 carries (8.0 ypc). The passing game most certainly opened up that running game.

Namath showed unquestionably how the passing game opens up the run by beating the Colts for the Championship, a team that was considered better than the Jets except for the QB position.

This, IMO, is the difference in the offense between this year and last. Having a vertical passing threat keeps the line from getting over-crowded.

#77 in Yards Per Game
Gotta love this one!

That's what happens when you're "97.44% in the Red Zone, with 79.49% of those being TDs". Or would you just rather we gain 200 yards per score.

Better yet, tell our defense stop racking up points? They're screwing up or total offense number!

If you look at the scoring numbers, Alabama is averaging 39.4 points per game. The only thing separating the two teams is a missed LSU extra point.

It's a huge difference.

LSU really does run to set up the pass. LSU runs twice as much as it throws.

Kragthorpe/Studrawa have been brilliant at setting up PA all year.

Crowton never set up any plays up.

Lee is having a really nice season and I'm happy for him. His TDs to ints is an awesome stat.

I don't care who plays QB for LSU or how many series a QB gets or a RB or a center.

You need to pick someone else to play praise/bash LSU QBs with cause I don't play that game.

JL can play QB on my team anytime and I said that in 09 and 10 before JL was in fashion.

While games are hardly ever decided by one set of players, I believe the play of our OL will be a big factor, maybe the biggest, in the games outcome as it has been in games already played this season. We are rushing for almost 200 yds a game and we are #1 in the SEC for fewest sacks allowed.

I was not trying to down play any part of our team, just giving what I see as a major area to be watched as the game plays out.

If you disagree, that's fine...each to our own.

Jeezus folks!

JJ finished last year ranked #92 in passing. JL is ranked #12 this year . . . . . but we haven't improved much.

Had Wright held on to that pass in the endzone, Jarrett Lee would have been ranked #10 in the nation and LSU would have been ranked #7 overall.

That's crazy stuff.

The underthrwn ball to Wright in the thrid qreter is the one JL wanted back.
Dude almost sakcked him and it caused Lee to throw the ball from his hip.
Couldnt get enough on it.

Meh. There was nothing he could do in that situation. He was about to get plowed and had to throw almost sideways to get around the defender.

Wright had one in the UF game, and two this game. The deep under-throw, and the endzone fade w/ the DB in his jersey.

What does 3 completions, 3 Td's and another 90yds passing buy him in the rankings?
