Last MSU TD

LSU called a Time out to get the defense a breather and set
We come out in dime with three DL and two LBs
Stevens rushes from the middle and easily gets blocked away, looked completely gassed, so we rushed four against five
No one else gets to within three yards of Costello, DBs are in man with two safeties lost in the middle of the field in zone
Ward was beat on the outside, Flott was also beat on the hash, Safety Hampton never got over the top and was five yards behind Flott and nowhere near Ward. Hampton didn’t cross the hash until after the ball was thrown even though TWO WRs got behind the CBs
Payton ran right by Flott with no contact, Ward tried to grab Mitchell but failed, mitchell caught the TD
Either Mitchell OR Payton could have caught the winning TD
The only play that beats you is a TD pass, yet we have CBs in man with safeties in zone chasing WRs from behind and give up a TD
UNREAL out of a TO that is what we set up and ran

If we don’t call that TO, we would have stopped them for a FG. That was a moronic call

Great post. I haven’t seen the replay, or highlights, so knowing that we only rushed four, how did we not have safety help for a cornerback who was standing flat-footed as the WR ran past him?

Safety wasn’t shaded to that half. Was basically center field

JaCoby had to be restrained on the sideline by Glenn Logan after that play. He was going off on Jay Ward.

What did BP tell them in the TO?
Flott looked hurt too. Flott body language on the play was awful, looked completely defeated with good reason

Safeties were on the two hash marks
Retreated at the snap, then Hampton didn’t react when both CBs got beat on his side
Either WR could have caught the TD
would have been better to have the safeties stand on the goal line and play prevent than what actually happened

While searching for that play in your link, I saw the pic play on the highlight before. The slot wr ran right into our CB. How did they get away with that all game long with no flag? I guarantee against Bama they will be flagged for offensive pass interference. Book it.

The technique was so bad
I haven't seen something that bad since 2008

Hampton and Harris were both horrible all day.

that play was doomed from the start

Bama will not play man all day and confuse the shite out of Costello.

That’s okay, Kary Vincent is working the cone drills tomorrow to get ready for the nfl combine in March.

Leach is a master at the PAC 12 pick plays and crossing routes
We struggled a lot with the crosses
Didn’t cover the RB wheel
This was like watching WAZZOU vs Arizona, you don’t get into a shootout with them
The crazy thing is everyone knows Leach will move the ball between the 20s, but struggle when the field shortens. Just don’t give up big plays outside the red zone and you can control them. But we let MOO State dictate to us all game long and they hit big play after big play.

They had a 9 yd TD pass
The rest of their TDs were over 24 yards

3rd and 8
3rd and 10
3rd and 12
3rd and 20
3rd and 8
3rd and 10

It was truly amazing how bad we were on 3rd and long

Interesting. One can argue about what position group underwhelmed most, but lack of preparation may be the most glaring issue.

Lack of preparation or they have no clue of the new D scheme yet
