I wouldn't believe Collin's mom if she said the sun rises in the east, sets in the west, or anything else. It was pretty obvious to me she's got an agenda the one time I heard her talk about it. I don't think LC even lives with her, does he?

If you mean she's a mother that doesn't want her son to go far off to college, then I agree that she has an agenda. I really can't understand why people are calling the woman crazy. She isn't calling press conferences. Reporters know this is a story and are calling her up with questions and they are the ones creating the headlines. That's what media outlets do.

No wonder Alabama is one of the most penalized NCAA teams, ever. Printing shirts up for that one? Bammers don't give a shite about being dirty, or home many NCAA titles are "legit."

It's not like Tuscaloosa and Louisiana are as far apart as say, Ft. Lauderdale and Louisiana are. I've always enjoyed trips to Baton Rouge from where I am as it's only a 3 hr drive....well, I enjoyed them until 7/10 when I had to make a trip no parent wants to make when my daughter died in a MVA while attending freshman orientation at LSU.

This is the type of story that the press needs to stay out of IMHO....why keep fanning the flames in what looks to be a somewhat dysfunctional family.

"Most" penalized? Like to see the cold hard facts on that one..... You're not a Bama fan so how can you profess to know what we do or don't care about? Just sayin.... :)

Sorry to hear that man. Your daughter and my son would have been classmates at LSU. LSU wasn't my first choice for my son. But, that's where he wanted to go and we supported his decision. I agree that the mother should have just kept her opinion to herself in the first place. Unfortunately, the media is eating this up.

Sorry about your daughter.

I hate to say it, but this is a boring time of the year for sports fans unless you're a Duke or Kentucky fan. They figure, why the hell not? It'll draw interest.

First off, I'm very sorry to read that about your daughter. I have two young sons and the thought of anything happening to them is the only real fear I live with. I'm truly sorry.

This however, is absurd. Given that the NCAA has ALREADY taken action on this exact type of behavior in regards to a type of student athlete, there is no reason to assume that it would be kosher in all others. This is merely an example of a coach being way ahead of the glacier that is the NCAA enforcement committee and your program (and likely others) have taken advantage of this gaping hole. The fact that Landon's family may have issues is irrelevant here to the big picture of wanting recruiting to be above board...at least to those of us that wish that.

The press needs to tear a new a-hole into this story and get this loophole sealed yesterday. Anyone who is eager to keep recruiting as honest as can be ought to hope for the same.

FWIW I don;t think Saban is a cheater. I knew a few boosters while he was at LSU, and while there were some things that went on that really REALLY seemed fishy, they were, like this episode, within the rules. Saban was, as you might expect, anal about knowing about all of this. There's not a chance he wasn't involved with the girlfriend's hire (assuming it was part of the package) and there's not a chance it was done without ABSOLUTELY knowing it would fly THIS TIME with the NCAA.

His mom is a real count. I like her b/c she's on our side but damn, support your kid bitch.

She explained this was partly about goals. Goals that he set and he's going against those goals. All of her kids have set goals. It sounds more like a principle. He's going against his own goals even when they are achievable. Her reaction makes a little more sense than it appears on the surface.
