in my experience in life, everything that is cool pisses people off, so if people hate it, DO IT!

I'm very patriotic and the first time I heard it, I thought the exact same thing. Then I thought, "Stop being a homo", and moved on.

people that think it's disrepectful need to lighten up, need to be able to distinguish between intended humor and unpatriotic conotation
(that's a big word for me )

I'm probably wasting my time here, but,
quote:

people that think it's disrepectful need to lighten up

I'm not pissed off that people do it. Its just pathetic how casual and apathetic people are toward the National Anthem.

I say people should be able to distinguish between a time for playin grab-arse and a time to honor our country.

For those of you who think it's "totally fricking rad, BRAH", you are too easily entertained. Please cease breathing.

No more disrespecful that the lame a$$ poppers that people pull during "rockets red glare." At least if you do this unoriginal move, do it during the "bombs bursting in air" since both bombs and poppers make noise.

I love lsu football. I love my country more.

I think it's disrespectful. The national anthem is a time to pay respect to the people who are ALLOWING us to enjoy the game. To deny our servicemen and women this is just rude.

It's a small token that is taken for granted my many of us tiger fans and if it were up to me, the fans wouldnt do it.

I feel its the least we can do since the vast majority of us derive the benefits from those who serve in the military while a very small percentage actually sacrifice, is recognize this... especially the ones who gave their life so we can enjoy ours...

yes it is. We are the home of the brave. It honors the men and women who have died and are dying protecting our freedom in IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN and places not mentioned.

Yes....America is home of the BRAVE, not home of the Tigers. It's juvenile and yes, disrespectful.

+1

While attending a football game last year, a group of Marines were being honored - they had just returned from Iraq. I'll never forget their faces when the national anthem was sung. I know I'll never do it again.

They have been singing "Home of the Braves" at Turner Field for decades.

I remember thinking after the anthem Saturday night..."yep, there will be a thread on this..."

The fact that anyone else does it or that we've been doing it for years doesnt change the fact that it is wrong.

Eh, it's a little silly, it's a little immature. But disrespectful? I dunno. It doesn't change my patriotism or respect for anyone fighting in the military. I think it mostly reflects the excitement of the crowd and nothing more.

I can't imagine that any member of the U.S. military gives two shits about changing one word in the national anthem according to the environment.
