Like someone mentioned earlier. A good walk on kid is about to be awarded a scholarship and will appreciate the free education , Board, and food!

Seems crazy to stick it out 4.5 years and then bail halfway through his final season, when he's actually getting a little playing time and team is doing great.

. I just don't understand why we can't wish him well. It's insane to me. You want to ask him to work for free and get no playing time when he's finished with his education.

I wish him well, I just dont understand one thing. Why quit?

The rest of this guys life when coworkers or friends Google him, they will find out he quit on his team. That will likely carry some ramifications in his career.

Why didnt he just make it thru a few weeks, finish this season, and then move on.

Are you assuming this guy will ever have or let alone need a normal job? His older bro will take care of him. He can do whatever he wants.

And I can see that. There’s more to 90% of college athletes than the pros.

He graduated.

I will never fault a player for that, he gave his commitment to LSU, stuck through that, got a degree.

I wish him well.

Your right, when I read he wanted to move on with his life I assumed he was talking about career etc.

It didnt dawn on me that his career might equal being in his brother's posse.

TBH, is it really our business? The only person he needs to tell that to is Ed Orgeron. We may not know everything and I don't really think it's our business to. He's a tiger who busted his arse here. Wish him well and let it go at that.

Yep, good luck to the kid. Everyone has a different story and you don't know what went into this decision.

Best of luck to him; glad he was with us for this long. Now it's time to get some serious experience and solidify next year's backs.

To all who suggest he make it "a few more weeks"...

I was on the track and field team at LSU and trained and competed for 4 years (injured/redshirt freshman season) and still trained the fall of my last year. Grew more and more weary of the grind, and eventually quit after the first meet of the indoor season.

I just didn't love it any more. And it was no longer worth it to me.

Best of luck to Lanard, and kudos to you for quitting when it was right for him!

Well for starters, they have 3+ months left, not just a few weeks. Long season ahead and he’s ready to move on. Let it be
