not to be rude, but what does any of that stuff in Houston have to do with the accident other than give the appearance he was overcome with guilt?

He was at his mom's because worried about him.
Keep reading and listen to Jacques Doucet interview. Car accident and Houston are intertwined

I don't think anyone is doubting he was an emotional wreck (no pun intended) after causing a fatality accident, fleeing the scene, and then getting arrested.
He would be playing on Sundays with Malik and BT Jr. if not for the accident. He was a few months away from achieving his dream. His lack of self control turned the dream into a nightmare.
Everything about it sucks and is awful. But it isn't the whites on the internet that made KL take his own life.
I don't understand your need to make KL the victim.

understand that’s what the police report says, but based on the implications of the attorney that may not be true. He seemed to have first hand knowledge, which is why I asked.
The police have first hand knowledge because they took photos, interviewed people who did stop etc
And took notes from what Lacy told police after he was arrested
The attorney was involved when? Days or weeks later, he was never at the scene , so his account of what happened are from reports and what Lacy remembered

There are reports that Lacy was from a good family and a good guy
So if we know this is true, it could be that he had a genuine good heart and felt overwhelmed by being a part of taking someone’s life in a split second accident leading to a death of an innocent driver. He first panicked and drove off, then remorse set in…
Knowing that he was going to be found guilty of some wrongdoing and it probably impacting his football career. He probably saw a long life punishment of this guilt on his heart and what could have been for himself , etc..
Combine that with the public prosecution on social media he just didn’t handle it at all. It was too much. - this speaks to what Coach Saban talked about frequently was young People are truly impacted by what goes on in social media when people talk down or negatively about them. They read it, and hits them really hard.
Tender hearted people take things very hard in this kind of scenario
It’s truly a sad situation and I feel for the parents who are going to have to bury their son, which is tragic and painful to think about as a parent myself
I would feel deeply sad and depressed and terrified if one of my children had caused an accident and killed someone- yes accidents happen, young people do dumb things, but dang it cuts so deep when it’s something that is life changing… this accident can’t be “fixed” with an apology
Speeding or making irrational decisions and not really thinking about what they’re doing in the moment is what young people do everyday
This is called growing up and being a human being. We’ve all done something and thought “oh my God that a close call “. We were fortunate nothing life changing happened
For those who care about LSU football, we want to generally understand what happened and what led to this suicide , and try to learn from it,,,,
May God help the family get through this heartbreaking tragedy

It's perfectly fine not to comment if we don't know the situation, Kyren doesn't have a sister
(This is an example of how rumors of misinformation are spread)

i’ve said it before, the Woman crossed the centerline and hit an oncoming car head on.
That’s clearly illegal we can all agree with that.
The standard to pass the blame onto another car is high. Basically is has to be either hitting Lacy head on or the other vehicle head on.
And there is no scenario where that was the case.

mean seriously OP?? I’m supposed to have sympathy for someone who killed a man needlessly and then drove off because people were mean to him on social media?

One of my wife’s friends taught him in middle school. Apparently he’s always struggled with emotional control and outbursts. Sounds like an opportunity to help this kid was long missed.
Yet another kid being pushed through due to their ability to play football. Age old story. Guys like Tyreek Hill get chance after chance despite making some really bad choices that would land anyone else in prison.

Did he have emotional control issues? Yes.
Did that make him a murderer? No.
He made an illegal pass in traffic, which many kids do. I get cut off like this almost daily. Its like Shannon Sharpe said on the situation: you are invincible until you are not. He happened to make a bad decision at an even worse moment, and it resulted in a death. It could have happened to a ton of kids his age.
Should he be held accountable? Of course.
Did the case likely cause him to spiral toward suicide? Seems so.

Well, this is middle school so my guess is that it isnt football related. His behavior was more likely chalked up to him being "a bad kid" and addressed with traditional discipline instead of something more appropriate for his condition. I don't have all the details, but I've yet to hear that he was ever diagnosed or treated for these issues.

I don't think it was me that said whites.on the internet. I said it wasn't just whites.

In a similar case, the Brister kid had to serve 250 hours of community service and pay a 5,000 fine. I know his lawyer has to play his cards, but I think there are some things in this case that the public doesn't know. His lawyer seemed quite confident it would go away, and after hearing the Brister case I would agree with him.

Being a spoiled, entitled young person isn’t a ‘condition’
From what I can tell, he lacked impulse control and good decision making ability

I dont know man. He committed suicide in a speeding car just weeks before he was going to be an NFL millionaire. I think there's a little more going on there them him just being an a-hole.

There are impulse control disorders. Bipolar and ADHD are just two that contribute to ICD. Not saying KL had this but he could have.
I have never seen anyone say that KL was spoiled and entitled. I have never seen anything negative until the December accident. I am not including dumb arse football penalties in this statement. He had improved on that from USCW to last game he played.

Yeah he said, “I think…” and “the family said…”
Harris Co. Sheriff’s Ofiice said,
quote:
At around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Harris County Pct. 4 deputies responded to a call reporting a disturbance involving a weapon. The caller reported that she was in an argument with a family member who had discharged a gun into the ground. The family member was later identified as 24-year-old Kyren Lacy. When deputies arrived at the scene, Lacy was gone. A description of his vehicle was broadcast to local authorities. At 11:35 p.m., Lacy’s vehicle was spotted. Deputies attempted to pull him over, but he sped off, leading to a chase that lasted several miles. Lacy’s car crashed a short time later near the 25900 block of Aldine Westfield.
Clearly says he sped off and a chase ensued for several miles. Also there is police dash and body cam. I’m sorry that you’re having such a tough time and so emotional about this tragic event.
