I'll be singing a different tune now. I've never met a fan base so against others pulling for them.

"Every fan base have unrealistic idiots. LSU has more than our fair share ready to jump off of a cliff after a SEC road win last Saturday. Some people lose all logic and reasoning when following their own team."
Yeah especially those that think LSU can do no wrong while having the 114th ranked passing offense in the country like the last couple years and they still think we have no issues currently. It's all just peachy.

I'd rather demand excellence than be happy with mediocrity and moral victories.

He just got carried away pulling for his team and wants them to be as good as LSU. Remember Tech would make LSU be their bitches, so cute.

Louisiana Tech fans are absolutely delusional, as they sincerely believe that they are one good coaching hire, or two or three recruits away from actually putting a team on the field that would be competitive w/LSU. And make no mistake about it - with these fans - it's always about competing with LSU. How sad is that? To measure your success against a team you rarely play, and when you do play them, scoring a point againt them is considered a moral victory.
There was a time when Louisiana Tech football was much more than relevant. Before the current system of segregating schools into this fbs/fcs/bcs stuff, Tech played "small college" football. People cared about Tech, and the schools and schedule they played mattered. Tech played Northwesten, Southwestern, Northeast, McNeese, and the like, and people gave a shite. The stands were packed - not only for football, but for basketball as well.
Then, the people at Louisiana Tech really started thinking that their little school in the piney woods of North Louisiana could turn into a Clemson, or public Baptist version of Notre Dame. Why did they make this decision? As most college athletic decisions are joysticked, it was done over money. The powers of Louisiana Tech athletics traded relevance, fan support, and playing games that mattered for the money associated with playing in the big boy leagues. Tech got paid for their former relevance.
Listen Tech folks, it's not so much that no one cares about you - it's got more to do with the fact that no one cares about WHO YOU PLAY. Even when LSU has down years, the county/state STILL cares about the Georgia's, Tennessee's, and Alabama's of the world. Y'all are confused. Even going undefeated will not make you relevant. Let me say that again. Even going undefeated will not make you relevant. That's because no one in Ruston (or Louisiana) has a hatred of Rice and Houston like they do for Ole Miss and Alabama.
Tech's greatest error in judgment is confusing succcess on the football field with relevance. No matter what happens, you'll never be relevant, because folks just don't care about the teams that you beat.
They used to care. You made this choice. Enjoy the payday. In exchange for it, you got a fan base that doesn't care.

I've known a lot of Tech fans and grads, none felt this way.

Why is it that the majority of ULL and Tech fans think this way?
At least ULM fans are grounded in the fact that the program is not or never will be LSU's football program. Most ULM fans agree they should go back to FBC so they can compete. No one cares what division you are playing in as long as you are winning games.
Now water skiing is a different story. ULM will kick anybody's arse in the SEC on the water.

[quote]We have made it through two of our biggest non conference games unscathed. We are gonna thump Virginia saturday. A&M is just about the only thing standing in the way of an undefeated[quote]
Put your $ where your mouth is. Tech will lose this game.
You have given up 1600 yards of offense in 3 games. Your defense would make LSU look like Oregon in a Thursday night game.
LSU has given up half that in 4 games. HALF in more games.

ULM has won a national title since la tech.
Posted on 9/24/12 at 5:50 pm to T1
No doubt ULM is behind Tech right now but ULM has a chance of building a program that can rival Tech's if not exceed it. On the other hand Tech will never have a program anywhere near the level of LSU's. Yes there may be the year where Tech has a better record or knocks off a SEC team but overall, Tech's program is a lower tier FBS program.
ETA: If ULM is playing LSU, I will pull for ULM. Any other saturday, I want to see both win.

When people ask why I hate La. Tech football, I always tell them that they have the most delusional fans in football. This proves it.
